Beetroot stewed in sour cream with spices

Beetroot stew is an excellent side dish for meat dishes, mashed potatoes, boiled rice. You will need: – 2 medium beets; – 1 medium carrot; – 1 small parsley root; – 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil; – 1 glass of sour cream; – 1 tablespoon of flour; – 1 teaspoon of sugar; – salt to taste; – 1 bay leaf; – 0,5 teaspoon of vinegar (6%).

Peel the beets, carrots, parsley and grate the root vegetables on a coarse grater. Put vegetables in a saucepan with vegetable oil, sprinkle with vinegar, add a couple of tablespoons of water and put on low heat.

Beetroot stew can be eaten cold and hot

Stew vegetables for 40 minutes, stirring constantly. Then add a tablespoon of flour to the dish and stir thoroughly. Now you need to season the beets with sour cream, salt, add sugar, bay leaf, mix and simmer for another 10 minutes. Remove the bay leaf from the finished beets so that bitterness does not appear.

To make the dish more flavorful, you can season it with a pinch of oregano.

Stew beets with garlic and sour cream

Spicy food lovers can delight themselves with beets stewed with garlic. Cooking it is very simple, for this you will need: – 1 large beetroot; – 4 cloves of garlic; – 0,5 hot pepper pods; – 100 grams of sour cream; – 2 green onion feathers; – salt to taste; – pepper to taste.

Peel large beets and grate on a coarse grater. Then fry it in hot vegetable oil for ten minutes. Finely chop the garlic, onion feathers and hot peppers, mix them with sour cream. Put the mass in a frying pan with beets, pepper and salt, stir. Simmer the beets over low heat for five minutes.

Beetroot stewed with celery in sour cream

Beets prepared according to this recipe are especially tender and aromatic. To prepare a dish, you will need: – 2 medium boiled beets; – 1 large onion; – 0,5 cups of broth; – 1 tablespoon of sour cream; – 1 tablespoon of flour; – 1 stalk of celery; – 1 bay leaf; – salt for to taste; – ground pepper to taste; – 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil.

Finely chop the onion and fry in hot oil, add celery, chopped into small cubes. Fry for a couple more minutes and add flour and sour cream, stir. Then pour in the broth and stir again. After 10 minutes, put in a frying pan bay leaf and beets, cut into thin strips, salt, pepper and simmer for 5 minutes. Serve, sprinkle with herbs.
