Beetles in the apartment: what are there and how to get rid of them
With the arrival of the warm season, you can see new residents in the apartment – various beetles. Of course, they can appear in other seasons, but in the summer their number increases significantly. Where do beetles come from in an apartment and how to deal with them? Let’s figure it out together.
Types of unwanted guests: flying beetles in the apartment
Any insects in your home can get you in trouble, because they can destroy food, clothing and furniture, and even carry various harmful infections and bacteria.
Very often in apartments there are small brown bugs that live in illuminated dry places. The place of their settlement can be a shelf with old books, a plinth or a window sill. These insects are called kozheedami, they are divided into several types:
- fur coat kozheedy can damage fur items, leather shoes and various clothes;
- food beetles spoil bulk products (various cereals, sugar, flour, etc.), they quickly expand the occupied territory;
- brown brown leatheries are capable of causing irreversible damage to furniture, carpets, and wooden interior items.
In addition to small brown bugs, other insects can also settle in the apartment. For example, if you come across large black beetles with a dense top layer that cracks when crushed, you need to get rid of them urgently. These are black cockroaches that carry various viruses that are dangerous to humans.
But still, most often in the apartments of multi-storey buildings you can find small black bugs. This is a flour beetle that lives, as a rule, in kitchen cabinets and eats cereals and dry herbs.
Beetles in the apartment: how to get rid of?
For the correct choice of a special tool, the type of pest should be determined.
So, when getting rid of kozheedov, it is necessary to destroy not only adults, but also caterpillars and egg clutches. The simplest and completely harmless way to free the living space from these insects is to cold treat the apartment; for this, ventilation is used for a long time in winter. To protect things made of wool and other types of fabrics, you can treat them with a solution (0,005%) of “permethrin”.
For each type of beetle that lives in a human dwelling, there is a way of destruction. Therefore, first you need to figure out what kind of insects have settled in you.
For the destruction of flour beetles, both folk methods and modern means are used. It is very convenient to use boric acid in powder form. It just needs to be sprinkled along the baseboard, applied to the back of cabinets and the underside of carpets.
The simplest and long-known drug for fighting beetles and other insects is “dichlorvos”. You can also use cotton swabs with lavender oil or tablets with the scent of this fragrant plant, which will not only drive away insects, but also give the room a pleasant scent.
When the proposed methods of getting rid of beetles do not help, it is necessary to turn to specialists who will quickly and efficiently carry out all the necessary work.
