How to cook apple and cherry compote

Products

For 1 liter of compote

Cherries – 300 grams

Apples – 2 pieces

Sugar – 3 tablespoons

Water – 0,5 liters

How to cook apple and cherry compote

1. Wash 2 kilograms of apples and 300 grams of cherries.

2. Peel each apple from the seed capsule and cut into 8 slices.

3. Peel the cherries (for speed it is recommended to use a special device).

4. Pour 0,5 liters of water into a saucepan.

5. Put prepared apples and cherries into a saucepan, add 3 tablespoons of sugar.

6. Put the saucepan on high heat and cook until boiling.

7. After the compote has boiled, reduce the heat to a minimum, cover the pan with a lid and cook the compote for another 10 minutes with low boiling.

8. Pour the finished compote into prepared jars and roll up.

– Compote can be cooked from both fresh and frozen cherries.

– For a rich taste in the compote, you can put a slice of lemon or add two pinches of citric acid.

– A little wine, liqueur or cognac can be added to a compote that is not intended for rolling, for piquancy.

– To preserve vitamins when preparing compote, pour the cherries with apples with cooled boiled water, add sugar to taste, cover and let the drink brew for several hours. Compote will remain vitamin, as the fruits are not boiled.

– The calorie content of cherry and apple compote is 70 – kcal / 100 grams.
