Modern filters for water purification are presented in many types and design options. The most productive are the so-called sink filters, which are built into the water supply system. Such a filter is very convenient for a large family consisting of several people.

What is the good about the “under the sink” filter?

When technologies of multistage water purification appeared, water filters “under the sink” came into fashion. A similar scheme for connecting a cleaning system can significantly save space in the kitchen. In most cases, the filter “under the sink” makes it possible to bring an additional tap with clean water to the hostess’s workplace.

The advantage of this filter and its difference from other systems is that, with proper operation and timely preventive maintenance, it guarantees the most effective water purification. Such a filter is distinguished by high performance and a significant working life. This filter is able to provide clean water needs for a family of several people.

Being one of the representatives of the family of flow-through filters, the “under-wash” filter not only cleans the water from impurities, but also removes chlorine and eliminates unpleasant odors.

The filtration system usually includes several stages of cleaning. In this case, the following are used: – a special coarse filter, – a softener, – activated carbon.

The larger the number of filtration elements, the cleaner the filtered water. The filter housing “under the sink” can have several replaceable modules and a manifold block. Some models, for example the Aquaphor Trio sink filter, are capable of softening water well, cleaning it from organic impurities and even heavy metals.

Flow-through filter “under the sink”: convenience and functionality

The in-line filter located under the sink can be connected to a dedicated tap. This solution allows you to combine the low cost of purified water with the convenience of using it for cooking. The compact design of most models and a durable filter case made of polypropylene make it possible to hide this household device outside the kitchen work surface.

The likelihood of the filter leaking under the sink is very small if the manufacturer’s rules for operating the device are observed

Installing this type of filter is very simple. It is placed directly in the cabinet under the sink, and then connected to a cold water pipe using flexible hoses. A separate tap from the filter can also be brought out to the sink or to the kitchen worktop in a convenient place for use. This solution will provide open access to clean, potable water and make the filter a reliable household helper.

Nevertheless, a sink filter should be selected and used only for water that is safe from a microbiological point of view. Water entering the filter must be disinfected by chlorination. Otherwise, the service life of the replaced elements may turn out to be significantly less than that provided by the technical documentation.
