A few habits to give up for a better life

The human mind is a funny thing. We all tend to think that we know perfectly well how to control our own mind (at least on an emotional and behavioral level), but in reality everything is not so simple. In this article, we will look at a number of common bad habits of our subconscious. Such “traps” often prevent us from living the life we want: 1. Focus on the negative more than the positive It happens to everyone. Each of us can remember more than one person who has all the blessings of this world, but is still always dissatisfied with something. These types of people have big houses, great cars, good jobs, lots of money, loving wives, and great kids—but many of them feel miserable, constantly focusing on things that aren’t going the way they want them to. Such a “trap” of the mind must be nipped in the bud. 2. Perfectionism Perfectionists are people who are deathly afraid of making mistakes and often set too high expectations for themselves. They do not realize that what they are essentially doing is self-persuasion in their alleged imperfection. As a result, they paralyze the ability to move forward, or doom themselves to an endless path to overly ambitious goals that are impossible to achieve. 3. Waiting for the right place/time/person/feeling This paragraph is about those who know firsthand the state of “procrastination”. There is always something in your thoughts like “now is not the time” and “this can be postponed”. Every time you wait for some special moment or an explosion of motivation to finally start doing something. Time is regarded as an unlimited resource and a person hardly distinguishes how days, weeks and months go by. 4. Desire to please everyone If you feel the need to prove your worth to other people, then you definitely need to work on self-esteem. Those who seek recognition from everyone and everything usually do not realize that the feeling of happiness and fullness comes from within. It is important to understand the banal, long-known truth: it is impossible to please everyone. Accepting this fact, you will understand that some problems begin to go away on their own. 5. Comparing yourself to others Comparing yourself to others is an unfair and wrong way of judging your success and worth. No two people are the same, with similar experiences and life circumstances. This habit is an indicator of unhealthy thinking that leads to negative feelings such as envy, jealousy, and resentment. As you know, it takes 21 days to get rid of any habit. Try to work on one or more of the above points, and your life will change for the better.
