5 simple rules for good health

To improve your health, lose weight, and feel energized and energized every day, try five simple rules.

1. Less toxins

If, when you mention toxins, you immediately thought of cigarettes, alcohol and drugs, you are right: these toxic bad habits must be abandoned first of all (although alcohol is not harmful in moderation for those who do not suffer from addiction).

But much more common today are the “non-obvious” toxins that we saturate our bodies with every day by consuming unhealthy foods, primarily processed foods. They should be eliminated from your diet or minimized. I have repeatedly written about their dangers, but I will not tire of repeating.

The most harmful and toxic is sugar in any form added to food.

Avoiding wheat can also be beneficial, and this includes even whole grain wheat.

Avoid the fats used in the production of processed products: these are all kinds of trans fats, refined vegetable oils. Read more about fat here.

It is impossible to be healthy, stuffing your body with harmful disease-causing substances.

2. More physical activity

We need training not only to look good. Exercise makes the brain and hormones function properly.

Lifting weights helps lower blood sugar and insulin levels, and normalizes cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Exercise increases testosterone production and improves metabolism. Physical activity helps to get out of depression and reduces the risk of all kinds of chronic diseases (including obesity, type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s and others)

Keep in mind that not only do you need to go to the gym, but you also need to exercise outdoors, especially on sunny days (the sun is a natural source of vitamin D).

Exercise not only improves your appearance, it positively affects your hormonal status, makes you feel better, and prevents the development of many diseases.

3. Sleep, sleep, sleep again

Sleep is very important to overall health, and research shows that sleep deprivation is linked to a variety of ailments, including obesity and cardiovascular disease.

If you have any serious sleep problems (which are very common), see your doctor. For starters, read some tips on how to fall asleep faster and improve quality in this article.

Good sleep improves your health: you will feel better both physically and emotionally, reducing the risk of various diseases.

4. Avoid unnecessary stress

Constant stress is a recipe for disaster.

Excess stress raises cortisol levels and negatively affects metabolism. At the same time, cravings for unhealthy foods can increase, which leads to obesity and increases the risk of all kinds of diseases.

To reduce stress, try to “simplify” your life. Exercise, practice deep breathing techniques, and meditation. For example, transcendental meditation.

5. Eat real foods

Choose unprocessed, whole foods and cook them yourself whenever possible. Eat more plants and don’t forget about variety, for example, the notorious vegetables are not just potatoes and carrots!

Do not “sit” on a temporary diet, but gradually accustom yourself to good habits, change your way of eating for the better.

Health is a marathon, not a race. It requires attention, and you must devote your whole life to it.
