5 secrets of cooking cabbage dishes
 

Cabbage is a vegetable well known and available to every housewife. There is a huge variety of dishes from it – from stuffed cabbage to everyone’s favorite winter version – sauerkraut. It is stewed, fried, salted, salads are prepared from young heads of cabbage. And, so that your cabbage dishes are always perfect, remember these life hacks:

– If you put a slice of white bread in a saucepan where you stew cabbage and cover it with a lid, then an unpleasant specific smell will disappear;

– If you combine separately fried onions, carrots, celery and parsley with stewed cabbage, the dish will be tastier and more aromatic;

– When making cabbage filling – pour boiling water over fresh cabbage, and only then fry;

 

– If you come across a cabbage that tastes a little bitter, put it in boiling water for a couple of minutes, and then cook the planned dishes from it;

– If the sauerkraut is too sour, rinse it in cold water. But don’t leave it in water for too long, or it will lose all vitamin C.
