“Scary Movie” was one of the working titles for the horror film “Scream”, which the creators abandoned during the production process.
Keenan Ivory Wayans, Sean and Marlon’s older brother, decided to make a parody of the entire horror film genre by inviting his brothers. They not only played leading roles, but also acted as screenwriters.
The first part of the future franchise was released in 2000 and earned almost $ 280 million at the worldwide box office (the sequels did not get close to this amount).

10 Kurt Fuller
Kurt Fuller was born in 1953 and started acting in the mid-80s. At first, these were mediocre television series, but then he was noticed and invited to the picture “Running Man”.
At the time of filming Scary Movie, he also had work in the films Red Heat with Arnold Schwarzenegger and the sequel to Ghostbusters.
Fuller appeared only in the first part of the comedy-parody franchise, continuing to participate in other projects after it. No breakthrough happened: he was still offered minor roles, and in recent years he completely disappeared from the screens.
9. Dave Sheridan
For Dave Sheridan, the role of Duffy was his debut in the movie, so he was somewhat lucky, because his character was far from being secondary. After that, Sheridan was still filming, but not a single notable work appeared in his filmography.
In 2004, he founded the musical group Van Stone and directed his main efforts to its development. Their work did not win success even at home, not to mention the international stage. Perhaps the reason is the style they have chosen, which they call “comedy hard rock”. In fact, it did not always sound like a comedy-parody.
8. Shannon Elizabeth
This beauty played the role of Duffy’s sister and became a real decoration of the film. A year before Scary Movie, the actress appeared as the Czech student Nadia in another cult comedy, American Pie, after which she gained the status of a youth sex symbol.
A year after the role of Buff, Gilmour again got on the set of a hard comedy, this time in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. She returned to American Pie for the sequel and final installment of the franchise.
In addition to acting, Shannon is seriously interested in poker and often takes part in the World Series. Among celebrities, she is generally considered one of the strongest players.
7. Locklin Manro
Locklin has been involved in hockey since childhood and dreamed of a professional sports career without even thinking of becoming an actor. The injury made its own adjustments, and although the sport had to be abandoned, at first he began to study music. Gradually he began to appear on television, where, thanks to his charm, he quickly gained popularity.
In total, since 1987, when he received the first role, Munro has played in more than two hundred films and TV shows. Not so long ago, he could be seen in the TV series “Lucifer”, in which he starred in 3 episodes.

The model, actress and singer began her career as a dancer until she met musician Prince. He helped her try herself as a singer, but it did not work out. She gained much fame thanks to the cinema, for a long time being one of the sexiest women in Hollywood.

5. John Abrahams
In the same 2000, when Scary Movie was released, another film featuring Abrahams appeared on the screens. It was the comedy Meet the Parents, where the actor starred with Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.
Apart from these two films, John’s filmography can only be distinguished by his role in the 2005 thriller House of Wax.
Now he rarely acts, although it is still too early for him to think about ending his career at 41.
4. Regina Hall
The role of Brenda Meeks was for her, though not a debut, but the first major work in the cinema. She showed herself perfectly as a comedic actress, so she was actively invited to other films and series.
However, her most popular appearances were still in Vines’ black comedy. She starred in three sequels, not appearing only in the final part.
3. Anna Faris
This actress, like Regina Hall, announced herself in Scary Movie, only after it she achieved much more success.
Also starring in three sequels, Faris was not limited to comedies and starred in serious films: Lost in Translation, Brokeback Mountain, etc.
Since 2013, she has been playing in the popular CBS series Moms, which the channel’s management renewed for seasons 7 and 8 in the winter.
2. Sean Wayans
Sean Mathis Wines began his career in 1988, and his first success came in 1996 with the release of the black comedy Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Neighborhood. This film, although it was received ambiguously, nevertheless had considerable success with the audience, and subsequently became a classic.
After that, there were two parts of “Scary Movie”, good comedies “Naughty” and “White Chicks”, and then Sean lost interest in the acting profession. He was much more attracted to work on the other side of the camera, so he focused on directing.
Alas, at the moment he has not yet managed to make a more or less famous film. However, he is only 48 years old, which is not an age for a director at all, and the main achievements in this field may still be ahead.
1. Marlon Wayans
Marlon is 2 years younger than Sean, but before Scary Movie, he had more notable roles. “Without Feelings” and “Requiem for a Dream” cemented the success that came to him after “Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Block,” in which he starred with his brother.
Now the actor continues to make the audience laugh on the screen, while simultaneously directing, producing and writing scripts.
