Bed linen care and life hacks for its convenient use is a topic that worries any housewife. Even if you are a pro in housekeeping, there is always something new to learn. We will help you become a true bed making guru!

Less is more

When thinking about washing in a machine, do not hammer the drum to the eyeballs. For the most gentle and efficient wash, the washing machine should only be half full.

Choose satin

Satin, a type of cotton with a special weave, is considered the most comfortable and healthy material. On such linen, we sweat less, and the fabric itself hardly accumulates dirt.

Sort

Wash white with white, green with green, or even better – wash all the items of one set together. After all, they are sewn from the same material, which means they do not shed, and they need the same mode. Also, bed linen should be washed separately from other items. It is especially harmful to mix natural fabrics with synthetics. For example, cotton linen can be washed at a temperature of 40 – 60 degrees, and if the kit contains synthetics, do not set the temperature above 30 – 40 degrees. The same rules apply to silk, bamboo and tencel – they don’t like too much heat.

“Tight” pillowcase

Is your pillow too thin and completely uncomfortable? In a tight pillowcase, it will feel more voluminous, which means it will become much more pleasant to sleep.

Arm yourself with a needle and thread!

Do you sleep badly at night, because the nasty blanket now and then strives to knock into a ball and slip out of the duvet cover? Buckle it from the inside. Sew large buttons to the blanket, and loops in the corners of the duvet cover.

Wash inside out

If you turn the laundry inside out during washing, retain the brightness of the pattern even after numerous washes.

How to hang to iron less

To make ironing easier, remove the laundry from the machine immediately after washing and hang it evenly. Be sure to shake and straighten the laundry thoroughly. Let it be free of creases, kinks and folds. If done right, duvet covers and sheets will look good without ironing. You nevertheless decided to iron, and the linen is overdried and does not iron at all, soak it from the spray bottle and leave it for a couple of hours.

Iron or warm?

Do you know that linen can be ironed, but can be warmed up? If you have a set of cotton, linen, silk, and even more so polyester, iron, gliding smoothly over the fabric in one direction or the other. Are you the owner of a wool set? We’ll have to warm up. Raise and lower the iron alternately, lightly touching the fabric.

Use a pillowcase

The pillowcase is ideal for storing bed linen – it is compact and hygienic.

Remember the air conditioner

The conditioner will give your laundry a fresh smell and make the fabric softer, which means your rest on a freshly washed set will be even more pleasant.

Caution, silk!

Before ironing silk bedding, turn it inside out and place a cloth on it. Otherwise, you may find ugly shiny stains on a fresh wash kit. If your kit is embroidered, lay it in the pattern on a white terrycloth towel. An important point – silk linen should be ironed slightly damp.

To prevent the sheets from slipping

Don’t want to sleep on sliding sheets? Choose Velcro over pins that open too often, interfere with sleep, and ruin fabric. And they are completely contraindicated for silk linen. An important point – Velcro needs strong and high pile.

Follow the face

Change your pillowcases at least once a week as they can collect so much dirt. The skin will thank you and will delight you with less inflammation and acne.
