The device of the girders

The tackle is not very complicated and consists of a coil with a spring on which a flag is attached, a round six made of wood and a rack. A fishing line with a tungsten leash is wound on the reel, to which a tee or a double hook is fastened. A small weight is also attached. The length of the main fishing line can be from 10 meters to 12, and the diameter is 0,5 mm – 0,3 mm. Moreover, the thickness of the fishing line is selected for the conditions of fishing. If you decide to catch a large pike, then you should equip the device with a thicker fishing line, and if you are ready to be content with less voluminous trophies, then the minimum line size is fine.

Leashes for girders

It should be more detailed on the leash. Its length is usually in the range of 15 cm – 10 cm, and the material from which it is made may be tungsten or nichrome. Other lead materials are also used, but their strength is specified. After all, the pike easily bites or frays during the struggle not quite strong products adapted for other fishing. Therefore, the wire must be thin, but strong.

To keep the live bait in the water column and prevent it from rising to the surface of the water, a small weight is attached to the line, preferably round or rounded. This form of cargo will not contribute to the entanglement of gear. The load by weight is selected depending on the current and the size of the live bait. If the current is strong or the live bait is large, then the corresponding load must be present. Hooks for fishing on the vent are used as single, as well as doubles and tees.

Pike at a loaded trap

To carry out the fishing of pike on the vents, for starters, several holes need to be drilled in promising places. About six or four meters apart. Then, measure the depth to the bottom. Unwind the required amount of fishing line from the spool of the zherlitsa and attach the live bait to the hook. After that, lower the live bait tackle into the hole, and having reached the bottom with a load, wind the remaining fishing line onto the reel. Thus, the live bait will swim near the bottom. After that, we securely fasten the tackle rack over the hole and set the flag so that it does not work from small twitches of the live bait, but reacts to confident jerks of the predator. And the final action will be to sprinkle the hole with snow to mask and darken. Happy fishing!
