Yeast and sugar: the connection is clear

And what is there in modern yeast! Even if we lose sight of the point about the harmfulness of the yeast itself, in the yeast used in baking bakery products, Alas, all this can contribute to the development of various diseases.

And even if you take pure baker’s yeast, it will not promote health. Why? Now let’s talk in more detail. As soon as they enter the body, the process of fermentation begins in the intestines., healthy microflora dies, immunity decreases, and candidiasis and dysbacteriosis may appear. And even this is not the worst thing, because yeast “acidifies” the body, contributes to the accumulation of toxins and is a dangerous carcinogen.

Another sad fact is that yeast does not die at high temperatures, which means that they are able to show their worst properties in the human body even after baking.

What else is hidden behind the word “yeast”? Many of you, especially those who have ever kneaded yeast dough yourself or seen how others do it, know that yeast needs sugar to activate. Indeed, yeast feeds on sugar. From this follows the “sugar addiction”, which is characteristic of many representatives of modern society. The more yeast baking we eat, the more we want to eat harmful sweets. And from this, inflammation appears on the skin, and the appearance becomes unhealthy. An overgrowth of yeast in the gut leads to a chain reaction of complications including fatigue, mood swings, nasal congestion, chronic sinusitis, intestinal problems (bloating, diarrhea, constipation, gas), colitis and allergies.

How does yeast suppress the immune system? Imagine that there are more and more yeasts, and they form a whole mycelium in the intestines, which literally penetrates the walls of the intestines. This, in turn, increases intestinal permeability, and “holes” appear in the intestinal walls. Digestion worsens, substances that are not ready for digestion are absorbed into the blood, for example, “scraps” of proteins that have not yet been converted into amino acids. Our immune system perceives such proteins as something alien and brings the immune system into a state of combat readiness. This is how an immune reaction occurs, i.e. the immune system begins to perform an extra function: it digests food. This loads it, leads to overwork, and when a real danger appears in the body in the form of microbes, the immune system can no longer cope, because it has spent energy on work unusual for it.

Overspreading of yeast also contribute to food allergies, and if you have allergic symptoms, treat them (the most common allergies are wheat (gluten), citrus, dairy (lactose), chocolate, and eggs). Allergies often occur on those foods that a person loves the most: the more you eat this product, the more of its constituent proteins the immune system sees, and the more severe the allergy becomes. 

You can rightly object that you can get your portion of yeast without eating bread, for example, from the same grapes or fermented milk products. It is worth noting that these yeasts are wild, they have a positive effect on the intestinal microflora and even have similarities with its composition, but we still do not recommend abusing them.

So, yeast grows by “eating” sugar, and in order to get rid of them, you need to go without feeding them (and yourself) sweets and pastries containing sugar for at least 21 days. To get rid of yeast, it is also extremely important to support immunity by taking natural immunomodulators such as rosehip infusion or lemon and ginger. If you really crave sweets, opt for fruits with a low glycemic index: cherries, grapefruits, apples, plums, oranges, peaches, grapes, kiwi, strawberries.

After completing this program, the skin will become cleaner and the activity of the gastrointestinal tract will improve. And yes, which is important, the body will noticeably cleanse itself of toxins, the yeast will die, and the unhealthy craving for harmful sweets will disappear. If, along with getting rid of sugar and yeast addiction, you decide to try to get rid of allergies (and, as often happens, you don’t know which foods cause it), try a weekly elimination detox, eliminating all allergenic foods, i.e. anything that contains wheat flour and wheat, citrus fruits, dairy products, chocolate, cocoa, and peanuts. After spending 7 days on such a “diet”, return food to the diet one at a time: first – milk (if you use it), then wheat, then cocoa and chocolate, then citrus fruits, and at the very end – peanuts. Carefully monitor your well-being and track any changes in your condition. This way you can identify the food that not only causes you allergies, but also contributes to the development of yeast and sugar addiction.

And finally, some general tips for getting rid of yeast and sugar in the diet:

1. Replace regular yeast bread with whole grain sourdough or yeast-free bread. Sourdough and bread prepared with it are often sold at monasteries and temples.

2. Try to completely give up sugar and all products containing it for 21 days to get rid of sugar cravings.

3. Track the slightest changes in the condition of your skin and general well-being – you will notice a difference that will motivate you to move on.
