Why Spring Born Babies Are Special: 17 Proofs

Why Spring Born Babies Are Special: 17 Proofs

And horoscopes and astrology have nothing to do with it. Almost.

Spring is a time of awakening, rebirth, youth and flowering. And children at this time are born special. Someone might argue that all babies are unique, they are. But still, every season in a special way manifests itself in children, this is confirmed by both science and statistics. We have collected the most important differences between children born from March to May from the rest.

Optimism

People born in the spring are capable of being annoyingly happy, despite any external troubles. This, by the way, has been scientifically confirmed. Scientists measure happiness on the hyperthymia scale – the ability to perceive everything in a positive way. So, this level is the highest for spring birthday people. That is, people who are sure that the darkest time is before dawn are likely to celebrate their birthday in the spring. For them, any recession is the threshold of a recovery.

Luck

This quality is probably associated with innate optimism. According to British researchers, people born in May most often refer to themselves as lucky. Unfortunately, it is impossible to measure the degree of luck scientifically. But if a person thinks they are lucky, they probably are.

Creativity

Astrology associates spring with creativity. But even without reference to horoscopes, as we promised at the very beginning, statistics show that children born in the so-called “wet” months (March, April, May) most often become scientists, artists or representatives of other creative professions.

Leadership

Leadership qualities are especially pronounced in children in March and April. They become leaders more often than others. But for children born in June and July, the chances of breaking out into the genders are the least of all. By the way, here the statistics agree with astrology: in March and April, Aries are born, which horoscopes invariably endow with bright leadership qualities.

Allergy resistance

And in fact, in spring babies allergies, asthma, eczema develop less often than all others. But the highest risk of becoming allergic is in children born in the fall. Scientists at the University of Southampton found this out by studying DNA markers in babies born at different times of the year.

Rare colds

This applies only to May babies, they are more fortunate than others, they are the least likely to succumb to respiratory infections. Not to say that ARVI and ARI completely bypass them, but spring children catch colds less often than everyone else. Why, scientists have not yet understood.

Strong nerves

Children born in March and April are the least likely to suffer from neurological disorders. March babies are especially strong in this respect. How this is related to the time of year, scientists also have not yet fully understood, but they are sure that the whole point is in the influence of the environment both during intrauterine development and in the first months after birth.

Low risk of developing ADHD

American researchers have found that attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is relatively rare in spring children. Most often, ADHD develops in children born in November. Which, however, is quite consistent with the fact that there is a lesser likelihood of neurological disorders in spring children.

Good vision

As it turned out, spring children are less likely to suffer from myopia than others. Of course, there are many factors for the development of this disease, including genetic ones. But there is nothing to object to statistics – most often summer children suffer from myopia, and spring children are more fortunate.

Stable psyche

And the nerves are strong, and the level of happiness is high – no wonder that spring children quite rarely have mental health problems. But in winter children, mental disorders and depression are diagnosed more often than others. Scientists attribute this to a lack of sunlight in early childhood.

Owl type

There are lark people, there are owl people. So, spring children are among the last. They fall asleep later, this is their natural biological rhythm. By the way, summer children are the same.

Good growth

Austrian anthropologist Gerhard Weber found that people born in spring grow taller than winter and autumn children. He came to such conclusions while studying the recruits of the Austrian army. And he connected this phenomenon with the fact that spring children receive a lot of sunlight during periods of their most rapid development.

It’s easier for moms

Not only the children themselves are optimistic, but also their mothers. Researchers at Boston University found that spring labor is less likely to cause postpartum depression. Statistically, this disorder affects 10 to 15 percent of new mothers and is most common among women who give birth in the summer and fall.

Fly in the Ointment

If there are pluses, then there are always minuses.

  • Spring children are 15 percent more likely to suffer from anorexia – eating disorders.

  • They are at the highest risk of developing cardiovascular disease: angina pectoris, atrial fibrillation, heart failure.

  • Increased likelihood of developing multiple sclerosis with age.

  • Spring men have a higher risk of prostate cancer.
