Features of growing radishes
Radish seeds are able to germinate when the soil temperature fluctuates within only +2-3 degrees. Agree, this is easy to achieve even with the most primitive greenhouse. Moreover, seedlings are able to withstand temperatures as low as -4 degrees. True, it will take more time for seedlings to appear in the cold period: if in spring the seeds germinate in 3-4 days, then under greenhouse conditions and low ambient temperatures, this may take up to two weeks.
When the crops have sprouted, thinning may be necessary. If necessary, simply thin out the rows and continue growing as usual. During this period, the best conditions for seedlings are temperatures not lower than 9 degrees in winter and 15–17 degrees in spring.

In a winter greenhouse, not too long daylight hours should be organized, but the intensity of illumination must be high, otherwise the plants become prone to shooting. For sowing in greenhouses, it is worth choosing the seed of suitable varieties, always of a large fraction.
If we talk about the characteristics of the soil when growing radishes in greenhouse conditions, then the best possible option is to feed seedlings exclusively with humus. This culture does not really like nitrogenous fertilizers, as well as manure, compost and other organic matter.

Saxon
This variety is distinguished by medium-sized, bright red root crops, each of which reaches a weight of 10-20 grams. After the seeds have germinated, you can harvest already on the 30th day. The flesh of the root crop is white, sometimes white-pink. This variety is characterized by friendly ripening, besides, this radish is distinguished by short tops. From 1 sq. m of crops can be harvested up to 1,5 kilograms of crop.
globe
Seeds of this variety are able to give the summer resident root crops of excellent quality, perfect shape and excellent taste characteristics. Globus radish is able to maintain its presentation for a long time. The variety is considered ultra-early – the period from germination to harvest often does not exceed 18 days. The flesh of the root crop is white, slightly sharp and crispy.
Beauty
Another variety of radish, the seeds of which are great for growing in greenhouse conditions. The vegetation period of the plants is just over 25 days, it produces rounded fruits, with white-transparent pulp of moderately spicy taste. The variety is considered high-yielding: from 1 square. m of crops, you can collect up to 2,5 kilograms of root crops.
Alex
Another seed that can be said with confidence that they are the best for growing under greenhouse and greenhouse conditions. Plants are super-early – only 16–18 days pass from germination to ripeness. Each root crop reaches 20 grams, has excellent taste. Radishes of this variety are not prone to bolting and lignification of the root crop.
Another advantage of the Alex variety is its versatility. This radish is not sensitive to the length of daylight hours, therefore, it is suitable for year-round cultivation.
Greenhouse Gribovsky
As the name suggests, the seeds of this variety are ideal for greenhouse conditions. Radishes are early ripening, characterized by friendly ripening. The root crop grows red, without a white tip.
Mokhovsky
Seeds of this variety give root crops of a not so common white color, rounded shape, with snow-white pulp. The fruits are quite large – up to 25 grams each, perfectly retain their qualities and presentation for a long time.
Ksenia
Plants of this variety have increased resistance to stemming, are able to give up to 100% of the entire crop in one harvest, so amicable ripening in root crops. Radish has an oblong shape, with a white tip. It has excellent taste qualities.

When deciding to grow radishes in a greenhouse, special attention must be paid to choosing the right seeds for a suitable variety. If you alternate crops correctly, you can achieve fruiting throughout the year.

- hybrid – such seed has already been treated with special means from most diseases and pests, so they can be sown without additional preparation;
- varietal – they can be collected independently or purchased at the nearest specialized store. Such seeds can be affected by fungal infections, and therefore require specific treatment;
- inlaid – in this case, each seed is enclosed in a special protective shell, consisting of growth stimulants;
- coated – such seeds are covered with a peat-mineral mixture, which is designed to provide them with maximum protection and nutrition.
