Quality of life decreases markedly when back pain becomes chronic. We cannot work fully, play sports, and are distracted by unpleasant sensations at the most inopportune moment. Over time, the disease can develop into more severe diseases – scoliosis, osteochondrosis and others.
As a rule, the cause of pain is spasm of the spinal muscles or damage to the spinal nerves. If such symptoms appear, the best option would be to consult an orthopedic doctor. However, you can relieve the pain on your own:
- If you suddenly experience back pain, lie down on a hard, flat surface. Try not to change the position of your back. Next, while on a flat surface, try to slowly roll over onto your side. In the lateral position, the load on the spine is significantly reduced, and the pain should decrease. Lie on your side, motionless, until the pain subsides.
- Later, you can gradually roll onto your back to release the tension in your muscles. It is better to place a bolster, a pillow under your feet, or raise them in another way. Maintain the pose for 10-15 minutes.
- Afterwards, it is important to get to your feet correctly. Gradually roll over onto your side, carefully stand on all fours, and then, using support, begin to rise to your feet. Try not to straighten your back until the end of the lift.
- If the pain persists, consult a doctor immediately.
