This bait has several features, each of which helps to catch hard-to-reach places for fishing without problems. The main features are:

• a hidden or closed hook that prevents the bait from catching on obstacles and obstacles;
• a large number of types and subspecies, which makes fishing for any predator successful;
• minimum depth, thanks to which shallows with algae thickets, as well as places in the immediate vicinity of reeds, pondweed and reeds, are fished without problems.

Lures of this type are conditionally divided by the type of hooks, there are several of them.

When biting, the antennae easily unbend and a predator is detected. Single hooks, as well as doubles, are equipped with the same tendrils-springs.

Wheels for catching pike in the grass

This type of bait for a toothy predator is most common among experienced anglers and beginners in this business. You can fish with a spoon in open water all the time, the main thing is that there are no hooks and a subsequent break in the gear. That is why models with a hidden hook appeared, and they do it in several ways:

• a deafly soldered hook is held near the petal of the spinner with a magnet; when a predator attacks, it moves away and bites into the mouth, independently detecting prey;
• a deafly soldered hook is closed with wire antennae; when attacked, the predator bends the antennae with its mouth and is detected;
• they equip spoons with a movable offset, such spinners are more attractive to a predator, and the number of realized serifs is much higher.

All of the options described above are on sale, but it will not be easy to find an installation with an offset hook. Usually craftsmen make this type of bait on their own, and it is possible to remake almost any lure.

Silicone

For fans of jig fishing, there are many options for unhooks that are suitable not only for pike, but also for perch. Most often, the installation consists of:

• silicone bait;
• offset hook.

Some anglers hook on a small weight to partially sink the bait, but an unweighted option will work just fine. Such superficial homemade products work perfectly throughout the entire season of fishing in open water, especially successful is the capture of a predator in the summer in the evening and morning dawn on the course. Still water will please the catch at the same time, but drizzling rain and cloudy weather will definitely become the key to catching a trophy.

A good option would be a foam rubber with a double, in this option the hooks are tightly pressed to the body of the bait, which means there will be practically no hooks.

Croatian egg

This type of non-hook is still made by hand, the original is made from balsa, but there are already a lot of plastic copies on the market.

Outwardly, the bait resembles a wobbler, but is only equipped with one single hook, which is firmly fixed in the body. For greater reliability, the sting is sometimes covered with antennae, but even without this, the bait rarely clings to anything in the water other than the predator itself.

This type of non-hook for pike is referred to as gliders, that is, options sliding on the surface of the water. The sizes are relatively small, from 5 cm to 7 cm, and they usually weigh up to 12 g.

A real Croatian egg, with any casting in the water, stands exactly on the tummy, while the hook looks straight up.

This bait has a lot in common with a silicone frog, this type of bait is referred to the same type, and in terms of catchability they are not much inferior to each other.

Spinnerbait

This is the best non-hook for pike if you have to catch in snags, but in grass or reeds, the efficiency will be much lower. The bait is a combined spinner and silicone, but still it is only at first glance. In the upper part of the bait there is exactly a component resembling a spinner, but in the lower part there is a skirt made of silicone or lurex, in which the hook is hidden. It is this do-it-yourself pike hook that is the easiest to manufacture.

There are homemade types and types of baits, it all depends on the imagination and skills of the master.

Do-it-yourself non-hook

More experienced anglers and craftsmen often make their own lures for this type of pike. For a beginner, this is not always possible, so we offer the simplest manufacturing method. How to make a non-hook on a pike yourself with minimal investment? It’s very simple, all you need is:

• silicone or foam fish;
• offset hook;
• a small collapsible weight Cheburashka (it is possible without it).

Collecting this bait is easy, the main thing is to see it at least once. The offset is threaded into silicone so that the sting comes out on the back, and an arc from the hook should form on the tummy. Strictly ensure that the sting is pressed tightly against the bait, this is the essence of the non-hook.

The weight can be hooked or not hooked, it all depends on the fished places on the pond and the test of the spinning rod.

The foam rubber is equipped in much the same way, but you can use it in late autumn, while fishing takes place on a dump. That is, the bait is simply slowly dragged along the bottom, for this it is important to choose the right cheburashka.

• Croatian egg, namely Kira Fishing is an excellent option for catching pike in frogs. A persistent color and a sharp hook will be the key to successful catching a toothy predator.

Technique of fishing

The non-hooking one itself is inactive, so when catching it, you should constantly engage in animation. This is not difficult to do, but the angler must have some skills. Success will bring the following subtleties:

• Periodic jerks with the bait, for this they sharply pull the rod or quickly reel the base onto the reel.
• In no case should the bait be allowed to sink completely to the bottom, algae will become a serious obstacle to lifting.
• Sharp pull-ups are replaced by pauses that last a small fraction of a second.
• At the slightest resistance, it is necessary to cut, in the thickets it is difficult to determine whether this is a predator attack or a small hook.
• The notch itself is performed more sharply, this is necessary in order to accurately open the hook and catch the predator.

In order to accurately attract the attention of a pike and be with the catch, anglers with experience recommend using fast and stepped wiring. But you should not strictly adhere to the rules, improvisations for fishing are often exactly what is needed to catch real trophies. Small pauses immediately after acceleration, a slight jerk during a steady drive will attract the attention of a predator standing in the grass much better.

To catch a predator, a wide variety of baits are used, home-made pike algae unhooks will work best. But it’s not worth crossing out the factory options of baits from the arsenal, snag and reed thickets are unlikely to be caught without them.
