August is the season of good, fleshy tomatoes! And today we will look at simple but relevant ideas on how to use our beautiful tomatoes, in addition to salads and preservation.
Salsa. Yes, it’s time for Mexican food! An indispensable dish of this country is tomato salsa, which is served with almost anything. There are countless salsa recipes.
We offer one of them:
Mask for the skin. Tomato juice acids perfectly moisturize and cleanse the skin of the face, and lycopene promotes the release of free radicals. Mix equal proportions of fresh tomato juice and aloe vera juice. mix tomato juice and aloe vera in a ratio of 1:2, respectively.
Salvation from sunburn. Tomatoes are also good for soothing burnt skin. If your burn is still fresh, not blistering or peeling, a slice of tomato will ease the redness and inflammation.
Tomato soup. Tomato soup is rich in lycopene, which has been shown to help fight chronic disease and increase skin’s natural defenses against UV rays.
Grilled tomatoes. An appetizer that any guest will love. What we do: Cut the tomatoes into slices, grease with olive oil. Grill until black spots appear. Flip slices and continue baking. Sprinkle with salt.
Stuffed tomatoes. And again – room for creativity! Cut the tomatoes in half, clean the inside. We fill with the desired ingredients: croutons, cheese, spinach, mushrooms, rice, quinoa – as an option. Bake in the oven at 200C for 20-30 minutes.
Tomato-garlic-basil creamy sauce. This sauce can be frozen and used throughout the winter!
In addition, tomatoes can still be canned, pickled, dried in the sun and … eat on their own! That is, as a full-fledged berry in the form in which it is.
