Health with linden
Lime is a large tree, up to 40 m long, it can be found in parks, gardens, as well as growing wild in forests. Both narrow-leaved and broad-leaved linden have beneficial properties.

Linden infusions can be used both internally and externally. Most of all, aromatic flowers and wood have healing properties – biel (a thin layer of tissue just below the bark). Flowers contain flavonoids, mucilages, volatile oil, minerals and triterpenes, while white organic acids, phenols, tannins and floroglucinol. The inflorescences are harvested most often during drought – this is when they contain the most beneficial ingredients.
The properties of linden are versatile, the best known are:
- It has an effect anti-inflammatorydiaphoretic, so it is ideal for relieving colds, especially when combined with raspberry or elderberry juice.
- Has anti-inflammatory properties, protectively for the throat, larynx and mouth
- It makes it easierexpectoration, is therefore irreplaceable in inflammation of the respiratory tract
- It has properties choleretic i antispasmodics, the tree is also used for constipation
- Helps with falling asleep problems, nervousness, hyperactivity.
- It soothes wounds, ulcers and eczema
- In the form of a tonic brightens discoloration, freckles, has anti-itching properties.
- It stimulates digestion
Recipe for linden flower drink
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon of dried linden flower
A glass of boiling water
1 teaspoon of honey
1 teaspoon of raspberry juice
Manufacturing method:
- Dry, pour boiling water, cover for 15 minutes, drain.
- Add honey and a teaspoon of raspberry juice to the cooled down infusion.
