There will be 8 new edible smileys

Smilies have become so firmly established in our lives that we do not even notice how often we replace familiar words with them. Each year, the Unicode Emoji developers introduce more and more new icons depicting emotions and objects.

For example, salt, lobster, cupcake, muncake, pacchay, mango and bagel appeared in the collection last year.

And in 2019 we will have a new collection of 59 emoticons. 8 of them are about food.

These will be garlic, onion, oyster, falafel, butter, Belgian waffle, a pack of juice and mate tea in calabash.

So we can diversify our virtual joint dinner or discussion of the upcoming dinner with new delicious emoticons.

To date, the encyclopedia of emoji contains about 1500 characters.

As a reminder, we previously reported that Google unveiled the most popular food searches in 2018.
