The mother-baby spa

Since Chiara was born, Isabelle dreamed of having time to take care of her and recover from postpartum fatigue. It’s done with a week of “Young Mum” thalasso at the Hélianthal center in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Tailor-made care and advice, everything is planned to share moments of well-being and complicity with your baby.

Separating from your baby before being pampered

Wrapped in her white terry maxi-robe, Isabelle is impatient to start her cure. On the program for this first morning: multijet bath, affusion massage and aquatic gymnastics lessons. Before joining the treatment rooms, she drops Chiara off at the “P’tits mousses” club. Romane (4 months), Lilou (3 months) and Tom (6 months) are already babbling there with the nursery nurses who will take care of them while their mothers take care of them. Isabelle finds it difficult to leave, it is the first time that she has entrusted her daughter to someone foreign to the family: “I was afraid that she would cry, but in fact, it is I who feel bad about it. don’t have it with me. »Children are sensitive to their mother’s reaction; the more they trust the competent staff, the faster their baby adapts, especially since they are picked up to breastfeed when he is hungry. In general, the first day they find it difficult to leave it to the “P’tits mousses”, they look at their watch and go back up between treatments. But, the next day, they realize that their child knows how to live without them for a few hours and they take full advantage of their massages and their slimming seaweed applications. After a last kiss and a little farewell sentence: “If you need me, I’m underneath, I’ll take care of myself and I’ll come back”, Isabelle leaves to be pampered, with a light heart.

Body care and diet on the program

In addition to traditional hydrotherapy treatments, the cure also takes care of the beauty of young mothers with a facial treatment and a tonic body scrub. To get back in shape, Isabelle can take gym and aquagym classes, heal her leg circulation in the organic marine course, lose her toxins in the hammam and sauna. During this week of thalassotherapy, diet is not forgotten. As Fabienne, the dietician of Hélianthal in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, emphasizes: “A good diet is the secret of fitness and I advise young mothers to have a balanced breakfast, with slow sugars at each meal (bread in the morning, pasta, rice, quinoa at noon) to regulate blood sugar and avoid a heavy evening meal. Against snacking, the solution is to taste lightly around 17 p.m. and, to have a good sleep, you should limit your coffee and tea. And especially no alcohol in the evening. »On Friday, head to the Saint-Jean-de-Luz market to learn how to choose the right products.

Mom-baby, shared care

In addition to your diet, you also need to rebalance your sleep. In addition to the three relaxing massages, Isabelle and the other mothers take part in a “Sleep workshop” led by a sophrologist. The goal is to learn to settle the day on the rhythm of the baby, to relax thanks to microsiestes at the same time as him instead of taking advantage of it to do the housework or fill in his papers… During the 6 days of treatment , Isabelle is not the only one to appreciate hydrotherapy treatments. Her daughter Chiara loved the newborn massage initiation session and the bubble bath with mom. Both had an excellent week of relaxation in the spa.
