The best diet of 2020 named

For the fourth year in a row, the Mediterranean diet has been recognized as the # 1 diet in the world’s best diets. 2020 was no exception. In a poll, which was prepared by the leading American weekly US News & World Report, the Mediterranean diet took the lead in four categories: the healthiest diet, the simplest diet, and the best diet for diabetics. and the best plant-based diet. It also ranked second on the list of the best diets for heart health.

Although 2020 was full of many dietary novelties, and one of the most popular diets in the world was the Sirtfood Diet, of which Adele is a big fan, she did not win the US News & World Report poll.

When choosing the best diet in the world, the jury was guided by the influence of nutrition on human immunity. Dr. David Katz, preventive medicine specialist and former director of the Yale Prevention Research Center, said: “Diet not only affects our health throughout our lives, but is also essential for the proper functioning of the immune system and has a huge impact on the risk factors associated with COVID ”.

Therefore, experts recognized the Mediterranean diet as the best diet in the world in 2020. This diet differs from other diets in that it does not restrict calories or exclude certain food groups. Instead, it offers its own food pyramid, developed back in 1993.

The Mediterranean diet combines fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, olive oil, herbs and spices. The basis is seafood. The bird can be eaten, but with restrictions. Dairy products, eggs, and red wine can be eaten in moderation.

Dr. David Katz believes that only a diet that enriches, rather than deprives, can be a diet that supports the immune system. The expert pointed out that eating healthy food is the key to good health.

Be healthy!
