Symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD)

Symptoms are both obsessions and compulsions, the latter being produced in response to the obsessions.

obsessions

These obsessions are repeated, overwhelming and persistent.

  • Fear of germs, germs, contamination;
  • Intense stress if an object is out of place;
  • Fear of losing something or of closing a door improperly;
  • Fear of injuring someone, in a traffic accident for example;
  • Sexual images or thoughts.

Compulsions

People with OCD, to prevent or reduce anxiety related to their obsessions, can set up rituals and perform repetitive tasks such as:

  • Do housework ;
  • Ranger ;
  • Wash your hands all day;
  • Check and recheck that a door or faucet is closed;
  • Repeat a word, a sentence;
  • To count ;
  • Accumulate objects of no particular value (prospectuses, waste);
  • Respect order and symmetry.
