Ribbon in Excel

When you start Excel, the program loads a tab Home (Home) on the ribbon. This article will show you how to collapse and customize the Ribbon.

Tabs

The ribbon contains the following tabs: Fillet (File), Home (Home), Insertion (Insert), page layout (Page layout), Formulas (formulas), Data (Data), Review (Review) and View (View). Tab Home (Home) contains the most commonly used commands in Excel.

Note: Tab Fillet (File) in Excel 2010 replaces the Office Button in Excel 2007.

You can collapse the ribbon to get more screen space. Right-click anywhere on the ribbon, and then click the button Minimize the Ribbon (Collapse Ribbon) or click Ctrl + F1.

Customize the ribbon

In Excel 2010, you can create your own tab and add commands to it. If you are new to Excel then skip this step.

  1. Right-click anywhere on the ribbon, and then select Customize the Ribbon (Ribbon setup).
  2. Нажмите кнопку New Tab (Create tab).
  3. Add the commands you need.
  4. Rename the tab and group.

Note: You can also add new groups to existing tabs. To hide a tab, clear the corresponding checkbox. Select Reset (Reset) > Reset all customizations (Reset All Settings) to remove all user preferences for the ribbon and Quick Access Toolbar.
