The best way to avoid styes is to observe good eye and hand hygiene:

• Do not apply any product at risk of being infected on the eyelids (cream, make-up, foundation, etc.);
• Do not share makeup with other people;
• Always wash your hands and rinse them well before touching your eyes;
• Always wash your hands before handling contact lenses. Disinfect contact lenses appropriately with an antiseptic cleaning solution.
