– It is a really beautiful culmination of a three-year work of a 200-person team of outstanding specialists. Our goal was to create one of the most innovative and patient-friendly medical centers in Europe. Today we can say that we have achieved it! The hospital operates on a patient value-based care model. So far, we have accepted nearly 40 thousand. patients, 98% treatments were performed using minimally invasive techniques, including the da Vinci robot and other advanced technologies. For me, as a manager and supporter of sustainable and socially committed entrepreneurship, NEO Hospital is the most beautifully fulfilled professional dream. Big congratulations and thanks to the whole team! – says Joanna Szyman, President of the Management Board of the NEO Hospital Group.

– Our clinic also participates in the quality control program administered by the American College of Surgeons (ACS), which allows individual assessment of benefits for each patient and prediction of the outcomes of bariatric surgery, says Prof. Tomasz Rogula, bariatric surgeon and Clinical Director at Szpital na Klinach.

The hospital has the status of a clinical hospital. On the premises of the center, medical students are educated as well as internships and internships for medical staff. The center carries out the first Polish research and development program in the field of oncological gynecology with the use of the da Vinci robot. NEO Hospital also has a center for educating doctors in minimally invasive techniques, using modern technologies, including virtual simulations and artificial intelligence systems.

Distinction for the University Hospital in Krakow

The University Hospital in Krakow received an award in the Dr. Kwang Tae Kim Grand Hospital Award. The facility was awarded for the adaptation of the new headquarters of the University Hospital for the purposes of the COVID-19 Specialist Hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic.

As we read on the website of the Polish Federation of Hospitals devoted to the competition application of the University Hospital, in March 2020, during the pandemic, the facility was renamed the Specialist Hospital COVID-19. “It happened one month after the hospital’s relocation to its new premises was completed, where a separate building was planned for the infectious diseases ward for 32 patients. Meanwhile, the hospital had to be adapted to treat infectious patients; at least 400 seats had to be provided. At the same time, the continuity of treatment had to be ensured for other patients ».

«The University Hospital is the only Trauma Center in Małopolska, as well as a center of great environmental importance for the treatment of strokes, interventional cardiology, oncological urology and academic medicine. Its complete closure would deprive thousands of patients from the region and all over Poland of specialist treatment. However, maintaining both hospital profiles, specialist COVID-19 and the ‘regular’ one, was a huge logistical, legal and organizational challenge. After negotiations, solutions were found that ensure the highest level of safety for both patients and staff. ”

The jury of the competition, composed of world leaders in the field of health, appreciated this huge effort.
