What is face plasmolifting
Plasmolifting is a cosmetic procedure focused on skin rejuvenation due to the natural stimulation of fibroblasts that synthesize collagen and elastin for skin elasticity. The principle of this method is the introduction of the patient’s own blood plasma through microinjections. The resulting plasma contains high concentrations of hormones, proteins, vitamins and platelets, which accelerate the recovery and renewal of cells. There is also plasmolifting using plasma and hyaluronic acid for additional skin hydration – it is also initially added to the test tube.
The main distinguishing feature of plasmolifting is the return of youth through the activation of the body’s internal resources by influencing three vital systems – immune, metabolic and regenerative. As a result, instead of problematic skin, you get almost perfect, young without flaws and other troubles.
The plasmolifting method practically eliminates the possibility of allergic reactions due to the full use of the patient’s own biomaterials.
Advantages of plasmolifting for the face
- Improvement of complexion;
- elimination of mimic wrinkles and age spots;
- moisturizing and nourishing the skin;
- increasing skin turgor and tightening the oval of the face;
- elimination of acne and rosacea (vascular network);
- normalization of the activity of the sebaceous glands;
- smoothing scars, scars and traces of post-acne;
- acceleration of skin regeneration after various peeling procedures;
- compatibility with other cosmetic procedures.
Cons of plasmolifting for the face
- Soreness of the procedure
The procedure is quite painful, even after an anesthetic, the skin remains quite sensitive to the perception of the needle.
- Bruising or redness
Each injection technique temporarily disrupts the skin, therefore, after the plasmolifting procedure, the manifestation of small hematomas and redness is considered normal. Such consequences pass on their own and do not require intervention.
- Long recovery period
After the procedure, it takes time for skin rehabilitation from 5 to 7 days, so that all bruises and redness are completely gone. Therefore, we do not recommend trying this method before important events.
- Противопоказания
Despite the absence of an allergic reaction to its own plasma, the procedure has contraindications, which are: pregnancy and lactation, blood diseases, diabetes mellitus, inflammatory processes of the skin (viral and bacterial), chronic infectious diseases (hepatitis B, C, syphilis, AIDS) , oncological diseases, taking antibiotic drugs, period of menstruation.
How is the plasmolifting procedure performed?
Any cosmetic procedure begins with cleansing the face. Next, to minimize the pain threshold on the patient’s skin, an anesthetic cream is applied. After some time, the cream is removed with a napkin or washed off.
The procedure continues with blood sampling from a patient’s vein, and then it is separated into plasma and red blood cells in a special centrifuge. Waiting time about 10 minutes.
After the plasma has been separated, it is injected into the patient’s skin by shallow injections. Injections are performed with special mesotherapy needles – thin and pointed in a special way in order to minimally injure the skin. Platelet-rich plasma is injected directly into the affected area of the face. The process is as natural as possible – the cells receive the necessary stimulation and are activated, due to which self-rejuvenation is observed.
The visible result will depend, first of all, on the initial quality of the skin, the state of health and the age of the patient. The final result can be seen after 2 weeks after the procedure – this is the optimal period of time for which the skin will recover.
Prepare
Before the procedure of plasmolifting, it is necessary to consult a specialist. Preparation starts approximately one week before the expected date of the event. To exclude contraindications, the cosmetologist will refer you to a series of laboratory tests, namely: a complete blood count, a biochemical blood test, a hepatitis test, an HIV test (other tests may be needed if necessary).
After receiving the results of laboratory tests, if no contraindications are found, you can continue to prepare for the procedure. Also, a week before the procedure, refuse to use peels and scrubs, from alcohol and tobacco products, temporarily stop taking medications.
Immediately before the session, you should not eat up – the last meal should be no later than 5 hours before the procedure.
Recovery
Despite the fact that the plasmolifting procedure is considered quite safe, some complications can still occur. Especially if you neglect the recommendations that must be followed after the session:
- After the procedure, refuse to use decorative cosmetics, as unnecessary manipulations with the “injured” face can lead to the penetration of harmful bacteria and unwanted inflammatory processes;
- Temporarily do not touch your face with your hands, it is not allowed to rub or comb the puncture sites;
- Cleanse the skin only with mild products, without the content of abrasive particles, acids, alcohol, soap, and do not resort to beauty gadgets;
- After the procedure, within 2 weeks, refuse to visit the bath, sauna, solarium and pool;
- Protect your skin from direct sunlight on its surface – for this, apply a special cream with a high SPF protection filter;
- Do not take alcohol or any medication for several days after the procedure, as this can harm the body’s recovery processes.
How much does it cost?
The cost of the plasmolifting procedure is formed on the basis of the quality of the equipment used and the high level of professionalism of the cosmetologist performing this procedure. Also, if an additional effect of moisturizing the skin is needed, the specialist may suggest performing a procedure using hyaluronic acid.
The cost of one procedure varies from 5 – 000 rubles.
Where is held
The plasmolifting procedure is carried out exclusively in special clinics and metacenters using high-quality and expensive equipment.
For a lasting effect, a course of procedures of 3-5 sessions is required. It is necessary to repeat the procedure once a year, as the effect gradually decreases.
Can it be done at home
Plasmolifting, despite its obvious advantages, requires medical qualifications, therefore it is strictly forbidden to perform this procedure at home.
Do not risk your health and beauty – contact a specialist with your wishes and all sorts of nuances related to your health.

Reviews of cosmetologists about plasmolifting for the face
Kristina Arnaudova, dermatovenereologist, cosmetologist, researcher:
– Plasmolifting is a relatively new direction in injection cosmetology, the secret of which lies in the intradermal injection of one’s own platelet-rich plasma. For the first time in Our Country, the method was used in the rehabilitation of patients after maxillofacial operations and showed excellent results. Currently, plasmolifting is used in many branches of medicine, such as: orthopedics, traumatology, dentistry, gynecology, urology and, of course, in cosmetology and trichology. The effect of the procedure is based on the stimulation of cell growth. The most popular procedure based on the introduction of plasma is face plasmolifting. It should be noted that the method is primarily therapeutic, that is, it is performed only after consulting a dermatocosmetologist and in the absence of contraindications. Indications for the procedure include: age-related changes; acne and post-acne; age spots, rehabilitation period after excessive insolation (sunburns, solariums) and peelings.
