What he immediately announced on his channel on YouTube video hosting. And he even shared the details of the operation, which lasted no less than 12 hours!

Hair transplantation is, of course, a serious step. Fortunately, most men can get away with the “small artillery” – just start growing a beard in all the rules. What are they? Read about it below.

Basic rules for beard growth

Here’s a tip from the author of the most bearded blog on the Internet (since 1996!) Stephen Glock. He claims that the biggest mistake newcomers make to this difficult task is the desire to do everything as quickly as possible.

It won’t work quickly. It will take about six months.

So be patient and get ready not to shave or even trim the “sprouts”.

And resist the temptation to shape or sculpt a beard in the process of growing – you can start this crucial moment when you “gain weight” and the stylist will have something to work with.

By the way

Still in doubt – to grow or not? Then here’s another argument for you. According to a recent study by scientists from the University of South Queensland, published in the journal Radiation Protection Dosimetry, a beard on the face protects the skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation. And therefore, from skin cancer.

Dermatologist’s advice: preparing the “soil”

Dermatocosmetologist Alina Kaczynska immediately cools the ardor – the thickness and density of hair is 85% dependent on your genes. Therefore, even with the greatest efforts, be prepared for the fact that it will not work to make a lion’s mane out of liquid hair.

Nevertheless, you still have 15% in reserve, and it’s a sin not to use it. Well, to maximize the effect, listen to the following tips:

  1. Exfoliate your face once a week, this will help get rid of dead epidermal cells (they slow down hair growth) and get rid of probable bacteria.
  2. Use a moisturizing lotion every time you wash your face to keep your skin hydrated and not clog your follicles with dead skin flakes.
  3. As the hair grows, an itchy rash may appear. To prevent dandruff, try a special beard shampoo (available at the barbershop) or just a regular anti-dandruff shampoo to help soothe the irritation.
  4. In terms of food, lean on protein and saturated fats. The former promotes the growth of healthy hair, including facial hair, and when combined with the right (saturated) fats, it increases testosterone levels, a key factor in stimulating hair growth.
  5. Stock up on a B-complex vitamin. It is especially important that you get enough B7, also known as biotin, which regulates the protein and fat balance in the body and is found in nuts, liver and kidneys, and egg yolks.
  6. Drink plenty of water and avoid dehydration, otherwise dry and flaky skin will make it difficult to grow a beard.

Note

It is a myth that frequent shaving stimulates hair growth. People think this because the growing “stumps” look thicker and thicker, but this is a visual delusion, once they grow back, everything changes. And so that you don’t feel so offended, let’s say in secret that women face exactly the same problem of “stumps” when they shave their legs and bikini area with a machine.

Barber Stylist Tips

Once you’ve grown your beard to the desired length (have you forgotten about 4-6 months yet?), it’s time to move on to the next step. Form outlines.

And it’s better to do it all the same with a special master – a barber, otherwise, out of ignorance and inexperience, you can ruin all the monthly work. In addition, the stylist knows all the trends and fashion trends. And he is able to determine by eye which type of face which style of beard will suit best.

So let the master mold you the correct shape, and then you can trim and adjust it yourself at home.

To do this at home, use an electric trimmer or a special hair clipper (their main difference is in size).

  1. Trim your beard gradually. As you grow. Maximum shortening – on the sides.
  2. It is important to avoid irregularities – this is the first thing that catches your eye with an “unprofessional” beard. Pay special attention to the vegetation above the upper lip, immediately deal with the bristling tuft, if one is suddenly outlined.
  3. The beard can go straight along the jaw line or under the chin. But the neck should remain open – be guided by the Adam’s apple.
  4. The easiest way to cut out is to place your index and middle fingers together at your Adam’s apple and draw an imaginary “U” from one ear to the other. Shave exactly along the formed line.
  5. If you have naturally very sparse hair, it is better to refuse to grow a beard and limit yourself to brutal stubble or goatee.

How to care for a beard at home

Growing a beard is only half the battle – it is equally important to properly care for it. Here are some important rules.

  1. Washing your beard is just as important as washing your hair. That is, every day. For this, a regular shampoo is suitable, but you should not use soap, the skin will begin to peel off.
  2. It is also important to comb your beard every day. In the morning and in the evening. This is necessary not only to avoid tangled hair (although this is also), but also to remove pieces of food, fluff, and other little things from it that can get tangled in your vegetation. Remember Mayakovsky with his unforgettable “cabbage somewhere half-eaten, half-eaten cabbage soup” and try not to get into such an awkward position.
  3. To keep the hairs from bristling, use burdock or palm oil. Or a special beard conditioner. Alternatively, ordinary cosmetic wax is suitable, but before the first use, do an allergy test.
  4. After a shower, do not dry your beard with a hairdryer – just blot it well with a dry towel.
  5. Invest in the right tools like a beard trimmer and scissors. You should have a wide sparse comb and a narrow frequent comb.
  6. Adjust your form regularly so you don’t have to start over from scratch.
  7. A mustache needs just as much maintenance as a beard. Comb them regularly, trim excess hairs above the upper lip. Use special mustache scissors and shaping wax.
  8. But in any case, be prepared for the fact that the hair perfectly absorbs odors. Therefore, wash your beard and mustache regularly.
  9. For a radical solution to the problem, try laser hair removal. This will save you from the routine daily work of care and shaping. But this is not a cheap pleasure, and most importantly, if you don’t like the result, you will have to wait a long time for the hair to start growing back. So weigh everything several times before deciding to take such a step.
