photo tips

In the spring, your desire to be photographed increases by an order of magnitude. Spring inspires! Is it easy to be photographed “excellently”?

It would seem, get up or sit down, look into the lens with a smile, and … However, for some reason, the result in the picture is not always happy. No problem! Woman’s Day found out 30 secrets for you – how to properly pose for a photo. We have selected some successful photos from social networks – watch and learn.

Alena Morozova, director of the Chelyabinsk model agency “Exclusive”, shared her secrets. At the Svetlana image club, she teaches the My Image course, which includes a photo posing section.

“Almost everyone thinks that they know how to take pictures, but quite often the picture turns out in the style of“ two or three sitting and standing ”. This is especially true for photographs from old albums. Now, of course, many have started experimenting. In order to get a beautiful picture, you need to know some rules. “

Most people have an asymmetrical face: the eyes are slightly or noticeably differently covered by the eyelids, the eyebrows are most often one higher than the other. Therefore, it is recommended to take a picture not in front view, but in a half-profile, with a slight turn of the head.

The face looks wider from the front. If you want it to be narrower, turn it slightly sideways.

It is very useful to know your own “working side”: how does your face look better in the picture – the right profile or the left profile. Take a picture of yourself on your smartphone, try a slight tilt or lift of your head.

If your nose is big, you don’t need to lower your face down – it will increase in the picture. If the nose is snub-nosed, you do not need to lift your chin, the nose runs the risk of turning into a potato.

For each type of face, its own lighting is suitable: someone looks better in contrasting light, someone in a soft, blurry one. It is necessary to check in which light it is more profitable for you to shoot – in artificial or in daylight, natural.

Often times, people look at the camera as if they are waiting for something. And you need to “communicate” with her as with a girlfriend! Play different emotions. This does not require acting from you, you just need to remember your own state, from life. Take a close-up shot, with a certain fixed mood: thoughtfulness, concentration, anger, rage, delight, lyricism, love, joy, sadness, serenity, and so on.

Often in the pictures, the models begin to pinch their lips. Especially when the photographer is unfamiliar. Tip: You can fold your lips as if breathing on frozen glass to relax your lips.

The corners of the lips are often pinched. In this case, it is recommended that you learn to smile with your upper lip. There is a methodological recommendation – to imagine that you are growling: “R-ry-s-s …”.

Photos with a smile are very good. However, often, if you just laugh heartily, your gums and lower teeth may be exposed, and this will not beautify the picture. A staged photo “full-mouth smile” is done like this: first, we say the word “raisin-yu-yu-yum”, then “r-ry-y-y” and lower the lower jaw – the photo shows laughter. Of course, you need to practice first.

Marilyn Monroe used this technique – she threw her head back slightly. Thanks to this, in the photo, the nose is slightly shorter, the lips stand out, the chin and neck are smoothed.

She used silicone pads under her lower lip to make it look more relaxed and therefore plump. Try rolling up a small piece of tissue and place it between your lip and teeth.

Sometimes a person tilts his head unconsciously. The cause may be, for example, scoliosis. The brain translates how to put your head in the habit. To overcome the stereotype, you can force yourself to tilt your head the other way. Practice in front of a mirror.

A useful thing is to look at yourself through the mirror. This will make it easier to see all the successful and unsuccessful techniques for posing. Ask a reliable friend to help with this. This will be a look in the mirror from the side – a double effect.
