Opinion: parental love is not expressed by the sweetness of lunch boxes

Laura Mazza is a Melbourne resident, blogger and mother of three. Her blog Mum On The Run is popular for her unconventional and outspoken approach to motherhood and parenting, as well as Laura’s excellent sense of humor.

Her posts often go viral and generate a lot of comments. One of the latter runs counter to the recently fashionable hobby – bento. How beautifully packing food into a school lunch box seems to be an art form. Plus, many parents carefully calculate the number of calories in meals, the ratio of fats, proteins, carbohydrates. Laura, in her usual manner, expressed her opinion on this matter.

She wrote, “When getting a child to school and preparing lunch for him, moms and dads spend a lot of time and effort to carefully calculate the ratio of protein, fat and carbohydrates, reduce the amount of sugar, add organic food and make food in the shape of a happy koala. decorated with watermelon hearts “and urged to” lower the bar “a little.

Laura believes that the fact that a child was not given something extravagant for a school snack does not mean that they do not like him – and after all, impressionable and a little envious kids may think that way.

Many people agreed with Laura, who recalled that in childhood they received a couple of sandwiches and an apple with them to school, while no one grew up sickly and did not complain about improper nutrition.

Let us remind you that earlier we told what Ukrainian schoolchildren think about food in schools, and also advised that tasty and healthy food can be put in a school lunch box.
