Nutrition for neurofibromatosis

General description of the disease

Neurofibromatosis is a disease belonging to the group of phakomatoses. It appears as flesh-colored spots on the skin of the body.

There are 7 types of neurofibromatosis (NF). Consider the causes and symptoms of each type of NF.

TYPE 1

The most common type of NF that is inherited. The main characteristic feature is the occurrence of tumors in humans. The incidence depending on the sex of a person is the same, every 3,5 thousand children may be at risk and inherit this disease. With NF-1, the gene is mapped on the seventeenth chromosome.

Signs of NF-1:

  • a large number of body spots on the skin, 0,5-2 centimeters in size;
  • increased skin pigmentation;
  • there are a couple of neurofibromas;
  • glioma of the nerves of vision;
  • the presence of Leesh nodules;
  • bone abnormalities;
  • genetic predisposition.

TYPE 2

Compared to the first type, the incidence rate of the second type is much lower. Approximately every 50 thousand children can get type 2 neurofibramosis. With this type of NF, the gene is mapped on chromosome 22.

Main features:

  • genetic heredity (there is a patient with NF-2 in a related line, or there is such a disease as “neuroma of the 8th nerve”);
  • neuroma of the 8th nerve (and bilateral);
  • the presence of 2 of the above symptoms;
  • there are neurofibromas, gliomas, schwannomas.

TYPE 3

Type 3 is rare.

It is characterized by:

  • palmar neurofibromas;
  • pale light brown spots on the skin of large sizes;
  • the presence of bilateral neuromas of the auditory nerve;
  • meningiomas, neurofibromas (spinal and paraspinal);
  • no Leesch nodules;
  • various tumors of the central nervous system.

NF-3 develops rapidly, but only after 20-30 years.

TYPE 4

Quite a rare form of neurofibromatosis. Symptoms are similar to type 1 neurofibromatosis, but there is one difference – there are no Lish nodules.

TYPE 5

The 5th type is segmental. In this type, the lesion is unilateral and is manifested by the presence of neurofibromas or age spots. Sometimes these manifestations are combined. In its clinic, NF-5 is similar to hemihypertrophy.

TYPE 6

This type is not inherent in neurofibromas. NF-6 is inherent only in the presence of pigmentation, which is manifested by spots of light brown color.

TYPE 7

It can form after reaching the age of 20.

The main signs of development:

  • pains of an incomprehensible nature or, conversely, loss of sensitivity;
  • the presence of paresthesia;
  • itching;
  • the occurrence of paresis (partial paralysis);
  • bone abnormalities, in the place where the neurofiboma (plexiform) is directly located;
  • sometimes NF-7 can cause asymmetry of the face, arms, legs.

Most often they suffer from neurofibromatosis of the first and second types (NF-1, 2).

Healthy foods for neurofibromatosis

For the treatment of neurofibromatosis, the following conditions must be adhered to:

  1. 1 There are foods that boost immunity. For example, you need to eat more black currants, citrus fruits, cabbage, viburnum (you need to be careful with it – it lowers blood pressure), drink ivan tea (brew like regular tea).
  2. 2 It is necessary to promptly treat infectious foci of a chronic nature, namely: caries, sinusitis, sore throat.
  3. 3 Treat dysbiosis (and they reduce the level of the body’s immunity).
  4. 4 In no case should you overeat and consume excessively fatty foods.
  5. 5 The body should receive the required amount of calcium, lecithin, zinc, vitamins with minerals.

Focus on:

  • fermented milk products (kefir, milk, fermented baked milk, cottage cheese, sour cream);
  • seafood and fish dishes;
  • meat (the most useful is chicken, it helps skin regeneration, thanks to protein; beef is a source of vitamin B and zinc);
  • liver;
  • green tea (has an antioxidant effect, protects the body from free radicals).

Traditional medicine for neurofibromatosis

Recipe No.1
