We offer to fulfill your desires, so we have prepared for you a culinary and cinematic selection, in which we have collected the best recipes from films. 

The secret ingredient of meat

One of the best films about cooking “Julie and Julia. We prepare happiness according to the recipe” it tells the story of two women, each of whom has passed her own path to mastery. The main dish of this film is bef bourguignon, prepared using a special technology.

For cooking, you need: 1 kg of beef, 180 g of dried bacon, 1 carrot, 2 cloves of garlic, onion (1 pc.), 750 ml of dry red wine, 2 tbsp. beef broth, 2 tbsp tomato paste, 1 tsp dried thyme, bay leaf, salt and pepper to taste, 70 g butter, 3 tbsp vegetable oil, 200 g mushrooms, 10 pcs. shallots, 2 tbsp flour.

Cut the beef into large pieces, cut the mushrooms into 4 parts. Fry the beef in vegetable oil until golden brown (the meat should not be stewed in its own juice!). Add flour to the meat, fry for another couple of minutes. Remove the meat from the saucepan and fry the bacon with chopped garlic in it, put the chopped onions and carrots. After a few minutes, we put the meat back in the saucepan. Pour in the beef broth, bring to a boil and add the red wine. Add seasonings and spices, tomato paste. Simmer the meat on low heat for 1.5-2 hours. 15 minutes before cooking, put the chopped mushrooms. Serve the finished meat with a side dish if desired.

Juicy pizza

Sometimes it takes a little to find peace of mind: new impressions, bright sun and delicious food. This is the recipe for happiness that the heroine of the film “Eat, pray, love”discovered for herself. And we offer you to get acquainted with the recipe of the Neapolitan pizza that won your heart Elizabeth Gilbert.

For the dough, you will need 500 g of flour, 0.5 tsp of salt, 25 g of yeast, 1 cup of water and 1 tsp of olive oil. The filling for a real Neapolitan pizza is very simple: 350 g of tomatoes, 250 g of mozzarella, 1 tbsp of olive oil, a few basil leaves and salt to taste.

Dissolve the yeast in water, sift the flour. Mix all the ingredients and knead a smooth elastic dough. Cover it with a towel and leave it for 30 minutes (this amount of dough is enough for 2 pizzas). Peel the tomatoes from the skin, finely chop and simmer for 10 minutes, adding olive oil and salt. Divide the dough into 2 parts, roll each into a circle, smear with the resulting tomato sauce, put the diced mozzarella and basil leaves on top. Bake the pizza in a preheated 210 °C oven for 10-15 minutes. The pizza is ready!

Aspic fish

We are sure that this dish is worthy of any festive table, the main thing is to prepare it correctly.

So, we will need: 400 g of pink salmon fillet, 1 tbsp gelatin, 350 ml of water, 60 g of cranberries, 100 g of raisins, 1 lemon, bay leaf, salt and pepper to taste.

Wash and dry the fish, cut into portions. Fill the fish with water, add the bay leaf and sliced lemon. Put the pan on the fire and cook for about 15 minutes, add salt and pepper, strain the broth when ready. Dilute the gelatin in cold water, pour it into the broth, warm everything together on the fire for a few minutes. Put the fish with lemon slices in a dish, put the raisins and cranberries. Pour all the broth and put it in the refrigerator for 8-10 hours until it cools completely. Believe me, no one will call your fish disgusting for sure!

Green Onion Soup

In the original, the dish from Bridget Jones was a rich blue color, but we still offer to cook a more classic version. Well, if you want to stick to the recipe for the film, do not forget to add a blue thread to the soup — the same color is provided for you!

For this soup, we will need: 1 kg of leeks, 1 bunch of green onions, potatoes (1 pc.), olive oil, croutons, salt and pepper to taste.

Cut the leeks and potatoes, pour a liter of water, boil until tender. Fry chopped green onions in olive oil, add to the soup, season with salt and pepper. Cool the soup slightly, and then puree with a blender. The soup is ready! Add croutons to it and enjoy!

Blueberry days and nights

A young girl, having experienced disappointment in life, finds herself in a cafe called “The Key”. New meetings and acquaintances, the intricacy of human destinies-all this leads the heroine to harmony and love. We offer you to make a blueberry pie from this romantic movie.

Dough: 250 g of flour, 125 g of butter, 50 g of sugar, egg yolk and a pinch of salt. Filling: 500 g of blueberries, 2 egg whites, 1 banana, 50 g of almonds, 0.5 tsp. cinnamon.

Combine all the ingredients for the dough and mix thoroughly, leave in a cool place for 30-40 minutes. Whisk the egg whites, add blueberries, chopped bananas, crushed almonds, sugar and cinnamon to them. Divide the dough into 2 unequal parts (for the base and top), roll both into a circle. For the most part, form the sides, lay out the filling. Cover with a smaller part of the dough, prick the pie with a fork, brush with egg. Bake for 40-45 minutes at 130 °C. The finished cake must be served with a ball of cream ice cream. 

Enchanted dumplings

“Evenings on a farm near Dikanka” is not only a work of N. V. Gogol, but also a Soviet film of the same name. Who among us does not remember the Sorochinsky fair, the flying devil and the tsar’s cherevichki? And of course, many people remember Patsyuk, who flew dumplings into his mouth themselves. Oh, such technologies would come into our reality! In the meantime, we offer to cook dumplings with potatoes — we are sure that they will” fly away ” from the table as quickly as in the movie.

We will need: 2 tbsp. wheat flour, 0.5 tbsp. milk, ⅓ tbsp. water, 1 egg, 1 tsp. vegetable oil, 1 kg of potatoes, salt and pepper to taste.

Boil the potatoes until tender, season with salt, pepper, mash in mashed potatoes, let the filling cool. Mix the milk, water, egg and salt. Add flour, butter and knead the dough. Roll out the dough and cut out circles, put the filling in the center of each and pinch the edges. Boil the dumplings in lightly salted water until tender. Serve with sour cream.

Burning sweetness

A stranger who opened a chocolate shop in a small French town was able to change the locals, giving them joy and happiness. Perhaps it’s not just about sweets, but it definitely did not do without them. We advise you to make hot chocolate according to the recipe from the movie.

We need: 400 ml of milk, 100 g of dark chocolate, a stick of cinnamon, 2 tsp vanilla sugar, ground chili pepper and whipped cream to taste.

Pour the milk into a saucepan, add a stick of cinnamon and vanilla sugar, put it on the fire. Warm up, but do not bring to a boil. Add the chocolate broken into pieces and cook over low heat until the chocolate dissolves. Pour the finished drink into cups, add ground chili pepper and garnish with whipped cream. And enjoy!

The Greek Commotion

A wedding is always a troublesome business. And if your chosen one has a lot of relatives who are skeptical of you, then a real commotion begins. Will the characters of the film cope “My big Greek wedding” with challenges? Be sure to watch this good comedy, but in the meantime, prepare a Greek spinakopita pie.

You will need: 400 g of filo dough, 300 g of feta, 400 g of spinach, a bunch of green onions and dill, 2 eggs, olive oil, a pinch of nutmeg, salt to taste.

Fill the spinach with hot water, close the lid and leave for a couple of minutes. Finely chop the onion, dill, add to the spinach. Beat the eggs with salt and nutmeg, pour in the greens. Mash the cheese with a fork, add to the filling. Cut the filo dough into squares, cover the baking dish with one, leaving the edges hanging down. Put the filling on the dough, cover with the edges of the dough. Spread layers of dough layers and filling. Close the last layer of the filling with the hanging edges of the dough. Bake the cake for about 40 minutes in a preheated 180 °C oven. Bon Appetit!

Overseas caviar

Ingredients: 1.5 kg of eggplant, 1.5 kg of tomatoes, 1 kg of carrots, 0.5 kg of red bell pepper, 300 g of onions, 5 cloves of garlic, 1 tbsp vegetable oil, 4 tsp sugar, 1 tbsp salt, pepper to taste. 

Cut the eggplant and peppers, remove the stalks and bake in the oven at 180 °C for 20 minutes, remove the skin from the vegetables. Fry the onion in a saucepan with vegetable oil, add grated carrots, then diced eggplant and peppers. Pour boiling water over the tomatoes, remove the skin, chop them with a blender, add them to the vegetables in the pan. Bring the mixture to a boil, simmer on the fire for about half an hour. Add sugar and vinegar, puree with a blender. The “overseas” delicacy is ready! 

Spicy curry

Can cooking connect loving hearts and reconcile warring families? The answer to the question you will find in the film “Spices and Passions” with the magnificent Helen Mirren in the title role. The heroes in it prepare many delicious dishes, but we have chosen a spicy vegetable curry for you. Help yourself!

Ingredients: zucchini-1 pc., 1 bulgarian pepper-1 pc., potatoes — 1 pc., onion – 1 pc., garlic-4 cloves, olive oil-2 tbsp. l., grated ginger-2 tbsp. l., vegetable broth-1 cup, curry-1 tsp., brown sugar-1 tsp., coconut milk-350 g, canned chickpeas-200 g, chili pepper-1 pinch, salt and pepper to taste.

Peel the vegetables, cut them into cubes, chop the garlic. Rinse the canned chickpeas with water. Fry the onion, garlic and ginger in olive oil for a couple of minutes. Add the vegetables, pour in the coconut milk, add all the spices and sugar. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes, add salt and pepper to taste. It is best to serve vegetable curry with rice. Bon Appetit!
