Let’s take seriously the bags … under the eyes

1. Massage against bags under the eyes

Swelling under the eyes (if they appear from time to time, and are not caused by serious health problems) is a consequence of poor lymph circulation. Lymphatic massage is the most effective thing you can think of in this case.

To accelerate the outflow of intercellular fluid into the lymphatic capillaries and stimulate its further movement in the desired direction, make a series of gentle but tangible pressure: with the middle finger, first along the upper eyelid, “walking” along the border of eyebrow growth, then along the lower one, focusing on the line of the orbits. Make about 5 of these pressure from above and the same from below, and then continue to move from the inner corners of the eyes down along the line of the nasolabial fold. And repeat it all twice.

An alternative to such lymphatic drainage can be made up of special anti-edema cosmetics with a roller massager. It doesn’t matter which ones: their cosmetic “filling” has approximately the same – very low – efficiency. But the metal roller will work the eyelid exactly as it should.

2. Instant cooling of edema

The cold acts on the swollen eyelids like a massage: it accelerates the movement of lymph and stimulates blood circulation. The simplest and most effective against bags under the eyes is an ordinary ice cube from the refrigerator. Apply it alternately to one or the other eyelid for a minute. And do not forget that then for about half an hour it will not be possible to “hang” upside down: otherwise the effect will be the opposite.

3. No carbs at night!

Everyone knows that salty food contributes to swelling. Much less often, we remember that carbohydrates also retain fluid in the body, and in very serious quantities: 1 g of carbohydrate binds up to 4 g of water.

Eliminate at least “fast” carbohydrates: And it is best to make dinner with protein. Then you can drink as much as you want. But not alcohol – yes, it dehydrates, but it collects the remaining liquid exactly where we do not need it, that is, under the eyes.

4. Drainage

have a diuretic effect. The excess water is also removed. But milk and dairy products, according to some studies, on the contrary, actively retain fluid in the body. To look good in the morning, without bags under the eyes, create an evening menu taking into account these properties of drinks and foods.

5. Up to the seventh sweat

Movement activates blood circulation and removes water along with sweat: even if not locally, but this is even better. Half an hour of running, a lesson in Latin American dances or step aerobics in the morning – and there will be no trace of the sleepy look and bags under the eyes.
