Keychain as a gift
The best gift is a handmade one. Therefore, we suggest you make a bright red army star in the fashionable felting technique and present it as an original gift to your defender on February 23rd. A detailed master class on felting wool with photos will help you!
For creating felted we need stars:
– wool for felting (non-spinned) red (you can make a star from wool of a different color, it all depends on your imagination);
– a sewing needle and several needles for felting No. 38;
– a large foam sponge or felting mat (dry felting);
– scissors, paper, pencil – to create a pattern,
– a fixture for our future trinket.

First draw asterisk on paper to better represent the dimensions of our future trinket… If you are not sure that you will draw all the rays evenly by hand Star (although it does not have to be level), you can refer to the Internet. Apply strands of wool to the pattern
We place our paper pattern on a sponge (or special felting mat). After carefully pull out small strands of red wool and lay them out obliquely in the direction of the rays Star so that all strands intersect in the center (see photo).
We remove from under wool pattern and using a needle to felting we start the process rollspoking wool over the entire surface Star… (To speed up the process, you can take two needles in your hand at once.)
At first, the middle of the star will be denser, so we still put small strands on the rays wool… It all depends on how much thickness and volume you want to achieve as a result.
When our felt star will acquire a small density, we take it in our hands and carefully fill up sharp corners and all bends: poke a needle around the perimeter Staras shown in the photo.
At this stage, you either finally take away the asterisk needle for felting and insert the fasteners for trinket, or refer to the wet technique feltingto smooth out any irregularities and even tighter to roll down a star.
Let’s get down to wet felting
Since our gift designed for men, it’s better to do asterisk more dense, so that it serves faithfully to its owner as long as possible. So, let’s get down to wet felting.
To do this, it is enough to roll the workpiece under hot water with soap or shampoo for 10-20 minutes. Rinse well after the star in cool water and dry.
Then we check the star с pattern.
Making a mount for the keychain
In one of the rays felted stars make a very small hole for our fasteners for trinket… For this we use a needle for felting, a thick awl or carefully cut a hole with manicure scissors.

Optional the star can be decorated with embroidery or applique. Instead of trinket к star can be attached pin (you get a brooch or badge) or a magnet – in this case gift will show off on the refrigerator.
