Interior in black and white: photo

Who said black and white are boring? Not at all! The combination of black and white shades has long become a classic, thanks to which, with skillful use, you can make any interior stylish and modern.

Choosing a tandem of white and black, you make the interior play in a new way and seem to breathe life into outdated images. Let there be a lot of those around who consider such a tandem too boring, but with a skillful approach, you can easily add grace, graphics, style and even a certain drama to the room. By the way, lately, a strict combination of white and black is often used in interior design in the style of minimalism, hi-tech, neo-baroque and gothic.

Before you start repairing, decide what you want to achieve in the end: lightness, rigor or some kind of mystery. Depending on this, introduce more black or white into the interior. Just don’t forget about balance!

So, for example, if you have a small room, then in no case should you add too many black shades, otherwise the room will seem even smaller. It is also worth remembering that if you chose black flooring, then only one wall can be pasted over with dark wallpaper. Otherwise, it will be overkill. It is better if no more than 50% black is used in the interior. Otherwise, you risk recreating a kind of castle for Count Dracula. Do you need it? And children (if you have them) will not feel very comfortable in a dark room.

The black and white design of the kitchen-dining room will not resemble a laboratory if this range is diluted with gray, silver, purple, violet, brown, red, green or blue shades. They will not only distract attention, but also dilute the deliberate severity of the room.

Furniture, household appliances, dishes and textiles can be chosen in both black and white shades. Or even give preference to original two-tone items. The main thing is not to overdo it and not turn the room into a designer’s nightmare.

The bedroom in white and black looks very stylish and impressive. Throw in a zebra-print blanket, graphic patterned cushions and textiles, a fluffy black rug and some elegant posters and you can see how much more interesting the room looks like!

And if you add finishing materials in silvery shades, the warm color of natural wood and live plants, then you will be able to create a harmonious style in the room, from which you will not want to leave.

What comes to mind when you mention shades of black and white? Zebra? Dalmatian? Rather chess! It is this association that inspires interior designers and proposes to use this technique in the bathroom. To create a kind of chessboard is as easy as shelling pears. It is enough to take floor tiles in two shades and lay them out in a checkerboard pattern.

In general, when decorating a bathroom in this spirit, it is important to add a few more bright (or contrasting) shades so that the room does not seem too dull and boring. They don’t have to be big items. You can arrange fresh flowers (if space permits), add a rug, curtains or towels with a striped print, and also introduce a small amount of gray. It will not drown out the main colors and will harmoniously fit into the design.

This interior option is good because it allows you to experiment with prints and styles. For example, a room will look very interesting if one of the walls (only one, the main thing here is not to overdo it!) Is painted like a zebra. This may well take root in the children’s room (or living room, but then everything else should be kept in a laconic style). Wall murals (or paintings) depicting Dalmatians, zebras, or even strict white peas on a black background will also look good.

By the way, the zebra theme can be continued in other rooms. A blanket or pillows of a similar color will look good in the bedroom, and curtains with images of cheerful black and white horses or Dalmatians will perfectly take root in the children’s room. Solid black and white curtains can be hung in the living room. See how she will transform immediately! But in the bathroom, you can support the black and white idea with striped rugs, cabinets and bath towels.

If you are not yet ready to decorate your walls with graphic black and white designs, then try starting with furniture of the appropriate color or with original textiles. The main thing is to combine everything in such a way that your interior will energize and not cause boredom.
