The Russian coronavirus vaccine will be tested on volunteers. They will check not only the safety of components and portability, but also the process of antibody production.
The Russian Ministry of Defense, together with the N.F. Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, announced that human trials of the vaccine would soon begin.
“In the coming days, upon completion of the two-week isolation, the first group of volunteers will be vaccinated, the main purpose of which is to check the safety and tolerability of the vaccine components,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
According to the results of the study on the first group, scientists consistently vaccinate the rest of the volunteers with the components of the drug in order to evaluate the effectiveness and study the process of antibody production.
Both military and civilians are participating in the tests: “At present, the state of health of all military and civilian volunteers who have come to participate in the experiment is good.” All volunteers continue to be tested for coronavirus.
