They are also flavored with all kinds of dyes, preservatives and other chemicals. Feeding a cat with such formulations is far from the best option. Give preference to premium products. Finished feeds are also divided into dry and canned foods. A dry product has a longer shelf life. Canned food is more high in calories, they are perfectly absorbed by the body. The ideal option would be a combination of these two products in the animal’s diet. Moreover, about 75% of the diet should be taken up by canned food.

- Do not feed the animal too hot or cold food. It should be at room temperature.
- Once every six months, it is necessary to give the cat a course of specialized food aimed at preventing urolithiasis.
- The composition of the finished products is completely balanced, so there is no need to supplement it with any vitamins.
- The cat should always have access to clean water.
- You cannot alternate food of different brands. This is bad for the digestive system of the animal.

How to feed a domestic cat: choosing natural products

- The main part of the diet should be meat. Preference should be given to beef, rabbit or lean lamb. It is better to give meat in a slightly stewed or boiled form. If the meat is frozen, then it can be fed raw. Poultry should always be served cooked only. Chicken bones, wings and paws should not be given, they are dangerous to the health of the cat.
- Good for cats and offal, from time to time feed the pet with a liver or heart. Previously, it is necessary to remove all fatty films from them.
- Lean fish are also excellent feed. Choose haddock or cod, but river fish can be dangerous to your pet’s health.
- You can also add cereals to meat. Boiled buckwheat or rice is best.
- Feed your pet an egg yolk, grated with kefir, every week.
