Origin of Lebanese makeup
Beauty rituals of Lebanese women
Very flirtatious, Lebanese women are a model of glamor that mixes East and West. In Lebanon, putting on make-up before going out is a real ritual. Appearance is even very anchored in everyday life.
The oriental world thus mainly emphasizes the intensity of the gaze. So of course, for a successful Lebanese makeup: spotlight on the eyes. The eyebrows in circumflex accents, perfectly drawn, and a strong and ombré makeup. To achieve this, Lebanese women never forget their kohl pencil, their essential tool.
The peculiarities of Lebanese makeup
If the goal of Lebanese makeup is to highlight the eyes, it is not to leave the other parts of the face without make-up. The important thing is to harmonize the complexion, to bring light to strategic areas of the face. All of this will work together to focus attention on you.
Between the Thousand and One Nights and Parisian chic, Lebanese makeup is a timeless ornament. Young girls and more mature women, each in their own way, can enjoy this strong style. For a wedding, an important or festive evening, Lebanese makeup is above all a way of feeling glamorous.
How to succeed with your Lebanese makeup?
Intense makeup that lasts
To achieve a perfectly successful Lebanese makeup, it is essential to work on your complexion. It is therefore necessary to use a face powder covering but without plaster effect. Another imperative of the Lebanese style, it must be a lighter tone than his skin tone.
This perfect and luminous complexion can be obtained with the technique of contouring. It consists of applying different shades of foundation to give volume or, on the contrary, to hollow out certain parts of the face.
The eyes first
For the eyes, start with a primer, in other words a base for the eyelids that will allow the color to hold. It is an essential detail in Lebanese makeup. You can then begin to make up your eyes:
- Apply a first iridescent blush all over the eyelid.
- Then apply your dark blush arrow-shaped, with the tip on the outside. To help you with this, you can use a piece of scotch tape.
- Melt the material with a brush to the center of the eyelid.
- Then apply, on the other side, a lighter shade and blend to the center in the same way.
- For a more sustained look, surround your eyes with kohl and blend it with a brush. You can, for a lighter Lebanese make-up, make instead a thin line of eyeliner.
- Then apply your mascara. Do not hesitate to put several layers. For a really intense result, you can also use fake eyelashes.
- Also make up the eyebrows, rather with a felt for a more linear and strong result. The eyebrow line really needs to be marked, practically drawn.
- Make-up of the mouth is then essential. Prefer a dark shadee which highlights the mouth without taking over the eyes. In this case, a plum or burgundy shade, with golden reflections, will catch the light.
Who is Lebanese makeup going to?
Lebanese makeup is, by definition, very strong. If you like light makeup, or nude, this style is the exact opposite.
When we talk about oriental makeup, a brunette with a dark complexion is the image that comes to mind. Blondes would therefore be automatically eliminated. But things are not that simple.
More than the color of the hair, it is in fact the complexion that counts for the success of a Lebanese make-up. Thus, blondes with very light skin may obtain a result that is a little too sustained, too contrasting. To stay in this style, however, you can opt for a makeup that is certainly Lebanese and intense, but in its light version.
But if you have a complexion in beige tones, Lebanese makeup, even with blue or light eyes in general, will be successful.
