How to bake fish in the oven. Video recipe

One of the most common technological methods of fish preparation is baking in the oven. This technique allows you to maximally preserve the nutritional value of the fish and give it an additional flavor by stuffing with vegetables or laying them on a “pillow”. Add a couple more delicious and original dishes to your recipe box.

How to bake fish in the oven

Try this tender and delicious fish casserole. Any fish is suitable for this dish, but it is better to take a sea fillet, it has fewer bones. You will need: – 400 g of fish fillets; – 3 onions; – 1 carrot; – 1 bell pepper; – 2-3 tomatoes; – 2 eggs; – 1 glass of cream 10%; – 2-3 cloves of garlic; – 100 g of hard cheese; – ground coriander and nutmeg; – 2-3 bay leaves; – ground black pepper; – fresh herbs: parsley, dill, cilantro; – salt.

Thaw frozen fish on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator, leaving it overnight or at room temperature. Rinse the fillets, pat dry with paper tea towels and cut into large chunks. Place the fish in a bowl, sprinkle with salt, pepper, coriander and nutmeg, stir and let sit for 15–20 minutes.

Peel the onion, cut into half rings, grate the carrots on a coarse grater. Pour boiling water over the tomatoes for 5–8 seconds, remove the skin from them. Cut them into thin slices. Cut the bell pepper in half, remove the seeds and core. Cut each half of the pepper into thin strips.

Place a bay leaf on the bottom of a baking dish and place the fish slices. Put onions, carrots and bell peppers on top. Lay a layer of tomatoes on top. Whisk the egg with a glass of cream, adding a little salt and black pepper. Add finely chopped fresh herbs, stir and pour into a baking dish. Put it in the oven, preheated to 200 degrees, for 20 minutes. Then take out the form, sprinkle the casserole on top with an even layer of cheese, grated on a coarse grater, send back for another 10 minutes.

Freshly caught small fish, such as river trout, will work for this recipe. Its taste is quite exquisite, so it can be simply baked without adding any vegetables or any special spices. You only need: – 1-2 pieces of whole fish of a small size; – 1 tbsp. olive oil; – ground black pepper; – ½ lemon; – salt.

Rinse the fish, peel and cut – remove the gills and entrails. Rinse inside and out again and pat dry with paper kitchen towels. Season with salt and pepper, brush inside and outside with olive oil, you can drizzle lightly with lemon juice. Place the fish in a bowl for 15 to 20 minutes.

If your oven has a fan, bake the fish whole by turning it on. To prevent the foil from blowing off the baking sheet, press it down by sprinkling salt on top or pressing it with a few weights

Turn the oven on top heating, preheat it to 200 degrees. Cover the baking sheet with a piece of foil, put it in the oven, place the wire rack on top of the baking sheet, on which you will put the fish. It should lie close to the top of the oven, almost touching it. Bake the fish on one side for 8-10 minutes, then remove the wire rack, gently turn over and continue baking for another 7-8 minutes.
