Home brewing

I believe that every beer lover at some point thinks about the fact that it would be nice to establish an uninterrupted supply of his favorite drink in order to delight himself when his heart desires. There is a simple, but expensive and not the most reasonable way – to install equipment for dispensing beer from kegs at home. The method is a little more complicated, but much more interesting – to brew beer yourself.

In this case, a whole range of advantages opens up for the brewer, one of which is that you do not drink a substitute from a bottle, but real beer, live and unfiltered, rich in vitamins and minerals. The only thing to do is to acquire your own brewery, or, on the scale of an apartment, a mini-brewery. As far as I know, there are currently two types of mini-breweries on the market – beer machines or “creative” type mini-breweries.

The former require much less time and labor and take up less space, but, as a rule, it will not work to vary the result; Mini-breweries of the second type, as a rule, will have to tinker with, however, the result will differ much more from time to time, giving you scope for creativity and experimentation. You can buy both the first and the second in online stores, however, with a known skill, you can make them yourself – there is nothing complicated about it.

In fact, such breweries are a large fermentation vessel with a set of additional necessary equipment. So what next? Next, you need to acquire the raw materials needed for brewing. First of all, it is a beer mixture or concentrate (for some mini-breweries special varieties are needed) Of course, with “creative” breweries you can go a long way (they are creative) and work not with concentrate, but with malt and hops.

In addition, you need water – and you shouldn’t save on it, because it is the water that lays the foundation for the taste of the future beer: use good commercial water, and moreover, only the one that tastes to you on its own. The last thing you need is patience: waiting for the finished product, depending on which brewery you use, can take a couple of months, besides, the beer gradually improves its taste by maturing in bottles. As for the rest, there is nothing difficult in home brewing, and a child can handle it.

Therefore, I urge you, if you are, of course, not indifferent to beer, to join the ranks of amateur brewers. To be honest, the quality of the products of most of the large domestic breweries is simply disgusting, and home production is the only thing we can oppose to the industrial giants. If you are interested in the topic of home brewing, let me know – if you are interested, I will write about it in more detail and reveal some secrets.
