It is worth making healthy eating a lifestyle, not a temporary way to regain vitality. The saying “you are what you eat” has a lot to do with it, indeed a reasonable choice of products we consume has an impact on our health and allows us to reduce the risk of various diseases, including cancer and diseases of the blood pressure system.
The term “healthy lifestyle” should cover not only the diet, but also physical activity, which will allow you to achieve and maintain an attractive figure for many years without major sacrifices.
The beginning of the day matters
Eliminate morning coffee for a glass of warm water with lemon, which will beneficially awaken sleepy metabolism from the morning. It will also make it easier to get rid of residues from the previous day in the intestines, which will make you feel light. If you want to live a healthy life, forget about cigarettes.
Absolutely eat breakfast, even if you’ve been avoiding it so far. It will reduce the appetite for unhealthy snacks, especially in the afternoon. The ideal solution is oatmeal or muesli with natural yoghurt, or millet with a handful of fresh or dried fruit.
Calorie drinks away!
The healthiest source of hydration for our body is mineral water, as well as freshly squeezed fruit juices, because those from the carton contain relatively little fruit, but a lot of unnecessary sugar. We drink sweet carbonated drinks or alcohol only occasionally. Instead of black tea and coffee, choose green tea, which is famous for its stimulating properties, and herbal teas.
Let’s learn not to drink food. Thirst should be quenched no later than 30 minutes before a meal or two hours after eating it.
Why is fast food bad?
It is not new that fast food increases the risk of cancer and heart disease. Burnt and well-fried foods have a similar negative effect on our body, because by subjecting them to excessive heat treatment, compounds with highly carcinogenic properties are produced.
This does not mean, however, that we should completely give up fat, because some vitamins are soluble in it. However, for cooking, use rapeseed oil and olive oil. Suitable for us fatty acids can also be found in avocados, fish and nuts.
Proteins, fats and carbohydrates are equally important. It is not worth succumbing to the fashion for a low-carbohydrate diet or limiting protein intake. Carbohydrate deficiency leads to acidification of the body, and thus to kidney failure. On the other hand, a large number of calories are used to digest protein, which makes it, apart from building the body, an important ingredient for people who want to combine Healthy Eating with weight loss.
