How to remove brilliant green from the carpet with pharmacy products

The exact name of brilliant green is an alcohol solution of brilliant green. To effectively remove the brilliant green from the carpet, where this antiseptic has spilled, you need to neutralize the free radicals contained in the brilliant green crystals.

It is easier to remove the stain before the brilliant green has soaked deeply into the pile.

Using a soft cloth swab or clean sponge, apply hydrogen peroxide to the green stain, then blot the wet area with an absorbent cloth or dry swab. Don’t rub the stain, especially around the edges – this will only smudge it across the carpet. Wash the sponge in soapy water as often as possible, and change the dry cloth as it gets dirty. Hydrogen peroxide can be replaced with hydroperite tablets and a more concentrated solution can be made if the peroxide does not work well.

At the pharmacy, you can also buy a 10% ammonia solution (ammonia), which quickly discolors the green. Apply the solution to the stain and leave it on for a while. It should be borne in mind that ammonia fumes irritate the respiratory tract and eyes, therefore it is better to clean the carpet with open windows. After removing the stain, rinse the carpet with clean water.

If the stain is fresh, you can discolor it at home with rubbing alcohol, triple cologne, or Laska nail polish remover. The rules are the same: apply the product to the stain with a swab and blot the carpet with a dry soft cloth.

The “Vanish” cleaning agent for carpets removes brilliantly well. Apply the liquid to the stain and let it sit for a few hours, then rinse with plain water. ACE bleach is also effective. The fresh stain disappears almost immediately; to remove dried brilliant green, you will have to leave the product for several hours. Whitening products from AmWay also quickly and successfully discolor green, but they are very expensive compared to other household chemicals.

If you are not satisfied with the result of cleaning, take the carpet out into the open sun, for example, on a balcony, and leave it for a week: the brilliant green fades under the influence of sunlight

The Russian bleach “Whiteness”, containing ammonia, also discolors brilliant green well, but it should be borne in mind that it can leave a yellow stain on a light pile.

You can also lather the stain with Antipyatnin laundry soap without smearing it and leave it to dry, then rinse it gently with clean water.
