“Hope”: description and main characteristics of grapes

In terms of ripening speed, this is a medium variety, the fruits are fully ready for harvest in 130 days. This period falls on the second half of August. Flowering is late, so there is no need to be afraid of spring frosts. Flowers are bisexual, well pollinated.

Grape “Nadezhda” has a sweet, dessert taste

The main characteristics of the plant are as follows:

  • The berries are large, oval, weighing up to 8 g. The color is dark blue, almost black. They hold firmly on the leg and do not crumble.
  • The pulp is firm and crunchy, with a sweet, dessert flavor.
  • The bunches are cone-shaped and highly branched.
  • The skin is dense, protects the berries well from external influences. Transport is well tolerated, which makes it possible to grow grapes for sale.
  • The sugar content is high – up to 17%, the acidity level is 8 g / l.
  • The variety is famous for its high yield – up to 30 kg of fruits can be harvested from one bush.

The plant quickly acquires the ability to bear fruit, the signal clusters appear a year after planting. After another year, you can harvest a full harvest.

Among the disadvantages of “Nadezhda” is its dependence on weather conditions. If it rains during flowering, poor pollination can lead to peas. Water stagnant in the soil can cause skin cracking.

Grape variety “Nadezhda”: features of care

This plant is quite unpretentious and does not require much attention from the owner. But still, when keeping it on your site, you need to know its such features:

  • This variety tolerates drought well.
  • Can grow and yield good yields on many types of soil, from sandy to clayey.
  • Resistant to mildew and oidium – the eternal enemies of grapes. But still, preventive spraying must be done 2-3 times per season. It also rarely falls prey to gray mold.
  • Average frost resistance, withstands temperatures down to -22 ° C. In the southern regions, you can do without a protective shelter. In other areas, the vines need to be removed from the supports and must be covered.
  • The bushes should not be overloaded; pruning is a necessary procedure for them. The shorter the vines remain, the fewer bunches will form, but the berries on them will be larger.

Up to 45 eyes can be left on the bush. If you do not remove the stepchildren, in the fall they will give an additional harvest, but the berries will be smaller than usual.

The variety propagates by cuttings, but they take root slowly. Can be used as a vaccination. In general, the appreciation of the winegrowers of this variety is high. It is suitable for both personal use and commercial use.
