“Grandma’s” recipes, or How to deal with an infection

What would your grandmother advise you to learn about your ailment? Chicken broth is the perfect remedy. With a headache – fish soups (“Eat fish – you will be smart!”), With gastritis – dietary chicken, which has “healing” properties … And so on.

The absurdity of developing the brain through eating fish fillet, or healing gastritis by eating chicken meat is obvious. However, traditional folk medicine does not see other ways of eating. Or not paying enough attention to them. So is it possible to rise to your feet and forget about the temperature and the cold without the help of meat broths? And how to protect the stomach from ulcers without changing the plant diet?

Cold

Unpleasant, but familiar to everyone since childhood, it prevents us from feeling like a cheerful and successful person. A headache that bothers us in the morning, a runny nose that interferes with negotiations, a sore throat and a cough – all this is a big hindrance in our usual life. We fall out of our own comfort zone and want to get rid of these ailments as soon as possible.

1. Warm green tea with lemon. Perhaps this is the most famous non-drug remedy for colds. 4-5 cups of green tea with lemon per day will help your body fight infection several times faster.

2. Ginger tea. In Russia, not so long ago, people got acquainted with ginger, but in the East, the healing properties of ginger root and its ability to strengthen the immune system have long been known. One of the effective recipes looks like this:

Ginger root – 1 pc.

Green tea leaves – 4-5 pcs.

Fresh lemon – 1 pc.

Honey – 1 tablespoon

Grate the ginger root on a coarse grater, mix with lemon juice. Pour boiling water over the resulting mixture and leave for 20 minutes. Then add a spoonful of honey and bring to a boil. Place green tea leaves on top and cover.

This healing tea drink should be consumed every hour. The effect will be noticeable the very next day.

3. Oatmeal, rice and semolina porridge. With a cold, the body’s need for energy increases, so it is necessary to increase the amount of intake of easily digestible carbohydrates. Porridges in this case become ideal products. Firstly, they just contain a large amount of the necessary easily digestible carbohydrates, and secondly, cooking cereals is not a complicated process that does not require a long standing in front of the stove.

4. More proteins! With a lack of protein, there is a violation of the synthesis of digestive enzymes, the bactericidal activity of blood serum decreases, therefore, the body’s need for daily protein intake increases, which should be at least 1 gram per 1 kilogram of human body weight. This is where it becomes clear why the favorite chicken broth for all grandmothers comes into play. You need to understand that it is not the chicken that has miraculous properties, but the proteins necessary for the human body during the period of a cold. However, protein is found not only in meat products, but also in asparagus, buckwheat, quinoa, black beans, almonds, lentils, pistachios, hummus, peas and broccoli.

5. Gulation, found in onions, garlic, spinach, Brussels sprouts and walnuts, is a powerful antioxidant that enhances the activity of the human immune system.

6. Vitamins A, C, D and a group of vitamins B have a strong effect on the immune system. Therefore, it is worth increasing the consumption of foods containing these vitamins. This will help: dried apricots, asparagus, beets, rosehip infusion, sauerkraut, black currants, mangoes, tangerines, almonds, beans, rice, millet, buckwheat, potatoes, seaweed.

– First breakfast: oatmeal, buckwheat or rice porridge, tea with lemon.

– Second breakfast: fruit salad and rosehip broth.

– Lunch: vegetable soup, asparagus, a handful of almonds or pistachios, ginger tea or rosehip tea.

– Afternoon snack: baked apples.

– Dinner: asparagus, broccoli, buckwheat porridge, seaweed, tea with lemon.

– At night: a handful of almonds and a decoction of wild rose.

Poisoning

No matter how carefully we monitor the heat treatment of vegetables and fruits, no matter how carefully we choose products for ourselves, there is a possibility of poisoning. What does the vegetarian menu offer us in the fight against this unpleasant disease?

1. Weak vegetable broths. In case of poisoning, the body loses a large amount of fluid, the compensation of which must be done not only by drinking, but also by light vegetable broths. Potatoes and carrots are able to feed the patient with a healthy and tasty light broth.

2. Rice or oatmeal. Mucous cereals will help your stomach calm down and prepare it for regular meals.

3. Unsweetened jelly from berries and fruits also contribute to the soft saturation of the body.

4. Steamed vegetables it is quite possible to start introducing 2-3 days after food poisoning.

– First breakfast: vegetable broth and jelly.

– Second breakfast: jelly.

– Lunch: steamed potatoes and broccoli.

– Afternoon snack: vegetable broth.

– Dinner: rice or oatmeal and jelly.

– At night: jelly.

We see that vegetarian “folk” treatment is not only no less effective, but also becoming more diverse. Compliance with the correct balance of vitamins, minerals, water and other chemical elements necessary for the body will quickly put you on your feet and become an integral prevention of colds and other diseases. In the spring, do not neglect preventive nutrition methods and help your body fight the surrounding infection.

Be healthy!
