Meatballs are usually thought of as mouth-watering balls of minced meat. But you can also mold fish ones, they cook faster, they are much less high in calories. This recipe is perfect for children who, as a rule, are not particularly keen on healthy fish in its usual form. However, delicious fish meatballs will appeal to many adults.

This dish is very simple. It is enough just to make minced meat from one or even several varieties of fish that you like, cook minced meat, add your favorite spices and fry in a pan. You can bake fish balls in the oven to make them healthier and juicier. And, of course, do not forget about the sauce: the meatball poured with it will be especially appetizing. In the proposed recipe, tomato sauce. Sweet and sour, it perfectly enhances the taste of fish meatballs.

Ingredients for Meatballs:

– 1 kg of fish fillets; – 2 eggs; – 1 onion; – 2 pieces of bread; – greens to taste; – a pinch of salt; – pepper to taste.

For the sauce: – 4 tomatoes; – 1 onion; – 2 cloves of garlic; – 1 tsp. paprika; – ½ tsp coriander; – basil to taste; – herbs, pepper and salt to taste; – olive oil to taste.

Any bread is suitable for fish meatballs: black, white or wholemeal. You can add grated potatoes and cheese to minced meat

Pass the fish fillets through a meat grinder or chop in a food processor. Add the onion and twist again, this time with the fish. Now grind the bread in a blender, mix it in a bowl with minced meat, eggs and finely chopped herbs.

Salt everything, sprinkle with pepper and mix thoroughly. Shape the meatballs. To prevent the minced meat from sticking to your hands, it is better to moisten them with cold water. When the fish balls are ready, you can fry them in a skillet or put them in the oven. Fish meatballs are prepared quickly, only 10-15 minutes.

To make the sauce, dip the tomatoes in boiling water for 30-40 seconds, then peel and slice. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Fry in a pan until soft, add tomatoes, coriander, basil, paprika, pepper and salt. Mix everything thoroughly and pour in ½ glass of water.

Simmer for 10-12 minutes, then pour over the fish meatballs with this sauce and cook them for another 15 minutes. Before serving the dish, it should stand a little under the lid to become especially fragrant and tender.

Potatoes are an excellent side dish for meatballs. But they can also be eaten with other vegetables, pasta and mushrooms.

This meatball variant is ideal for baby food. Such a dish can be given to babies from two years old, it will saturate their body with proteins, phosphorus and valuable amino acids.

Ingredients for Meatballs:

– 200 g of lean fish; – 1 egg yolk; – 50 g of bread; – salt to taste; – 2 tbsp. l. milk;

For the sauce:

– 1 tsp. flour; – ½ glass of milk; – 1 tsp. butter; – a pinch of salt.

For such children’s meatballs, it is best to use white fish: pollock, hake, tilapia. It must be thoroughly cleaned of skin and bones, then crank it through a meat grinder.

When you make minced meat, soak bread in water, preferably wheat, and also scroll in a meat grinder. Add to the minced meat, then put the egg there, salt, mix well. Blind small meatballs, toss them in a pot of boiling water and simmer a little. The finished fish balls will float to the surface.

To make the sauce, lightly dry the flour in a skillet and stir in butter with a mashed fork. Put milk on fire and boil. Then throw a mixture of butter and flour into it and mix thoroughly, lightly salt. Pour the prepared sauce over the meatballs, now they can be served.
