Manicure has long and firmly entered the beauty schedule of all girls, and especially lucky ones even got their own master. But from time to time you want to try something new. We meticulously studied the most popular types of manicure and found out all their pros and cons. Take your pick!
Edged or classic manicure
The most popular manicure in our country, it will be offered to you in most Russian salons. Principle: Dry nails are filed and an emollient cream is applied to the cuticle. Then hands are steamed in warm water with aromatic oil or salt, the cuticle is pushed back with a spatula and removed with tweezers or scissors. The skin around the nail is lubricated with a special oil. After that, the surface of the nail is polished, a base, coating and fixer are applied.
Pros: Allows you to quickly tidy up even heavily neglected nails, just do it at home.
Cons: There is a high probability of injury to the cuticle and, therefore, the introduction of any infection, burrs may appear. It is believed that after cutting the cuticle, it becomes coarser and grows faster.
Dry or European manicure
The safest in all respects and, as the name implies, is the most common in Europe, and in the United States too.
Principle:
The nails are filed, then a special liquid is applied to the cuticle, which includes lactic and fruit acids. It gently softens the skin around the nail. After waiting a few minutes, the cuticle is gently moved, without pressing, with an orange tree stick. After applying the varnish, an oil is used that slows down the growth of the cuticle.
Pros:
The likelihood of injury is minimal, the cuticle grows rather slowly, the varnish lasts longer.
Cons:
It is not suitable for everyone – you cannot remove very coarse skin in this way. And the perfect look of your nails is guaranteed only if you visit the salon regularly.
French manicure
It was invented in the 70s of the last century, but not in France, but in America, by Jeff Pink. He decided that such a name would attract more attention to the manicure and was not mistaken.
Principle:
A transparent base is applied to the entire surface of the nails, and white varnish is applied to the protruding tips. Start from the right side edge, brushing to the middle of the nail to form a semicircle that resembles a smile. For the evenness of the line, special stencil stickers are used. When the varnish dries, they are removed, and the nails are completely varnished with a natural flesh or pale pink shade. Finally, a fixer is used. Sometimes nails are decorated with rhinestones, and white is replaced with any other.
Pros:
Appropriate in any situation and in harmony with all outfits. Emphasizes the natural beauty of nails, they look very neat and well-groomed.
Cons:
Quite a laborious way, it requires patience and constant correction.
Hardware manicure
It is most suitable for correcting the shape and leveling the surface of nails, especially extended ones. But more often it is used for a pedicure, but not all experts recommend taking care of your hands in this way. Principle: For hardware manicure, a special machine with replaceable nozzles is used – each of them performs its own function. With the help of these nozzles, they do the same as in a classic manicure, only everything happens much faster and always on dry skin. Pros: With this type of manicure, cuts are practically eliminated, which makes the procedure itself more gentle and safe. Significant time savings are another advantage. Cons: To avoid injury, the technician requires even more dexterity than with a trim manicure. If the hand trembles in the case of a hardware manicure, the damage will be more noticeable.
SPA-manicure
The main point is to put your hands in order, and their owner – in a good mood. There are no clear rules in this form, each salon develops its own unique system. Principle: The program depends on the imagination of the master and on the condition of your hands. Usually, SPA care is not limited to nail treatment, most often it also includes peeling and nourishing masks for the skin, but ends with a relaxing massage, which sometimes captures not only the hand, but the entire arm, including the shoulders. Pros: You can combine business with pleasure. – and relax and take care of your nails. Cons: To complete this procedure, you need to have time and money – as a rule, pleasure is much more expensive than a regular manicure.
