Eyebrow waxing: how to pluck your eyebrows?

The eyebrow structures the look and gives character to the face. If it is poorly plucked, the eyebrow can quickly droop, give an air of surprise or anger, which is why it is necessary to take the greatest care! Find all our tips for having perfect eyebrows.

The different shapes of eyebrows

The eyebrows in women as in men, casually, structure the look. They also allow us to convey our emotions. To enhance your look, it is essential to adapt the shape of the eyebrow to your face, but also its length and thickness. For a natural look, you can choose to leave a rounded head to your eyebrows.

A few years ago, the trend was for heavily plucked eyebrows. Today, the natural is back at a gallop and the fashion is rather to the rather full eyebrows, to structure the look and enhance it. If you want a more trendy look, there is a real craze around the square and precisely drawn eyebrow. Careful hair removal is then required, and possibly shaping the eyebrow with the use of eyebrow pencil or mascara.

How to pluck your eyebrows?

First and foremost, for correct eyebrow depilation, you will need a pair of tweezers that are in good condition and of good quality. You have to be very careful in your actions because a misstep can happen quickly, and a badly plucked eyebrow is not always easy to catch up. If you are afraid of missing out, do not hesitate to have your eyebrows waxed for the first time at a beautician, who can advise you on how to adopt the right gestures at home.

If you want to do the hair removal yourself, there are a few tips for plucking your eyebrows properly. First, pluck only the hairs on the lower eyebrow, following the shape of the brow bone. Never pluck the top hairs so as not to risk distorting the shape of your eyebrow. If you are a bit cozy, you can apply an ice cube to the area to be waxed to slightly anesthetize the skin.

To outline the length of your eyebrows, you should know that the ideal starting point of the eyebrow begins in the alignment of the base of your nostril and the inner corner of your eye. You can draw a small line with a pencil at this level of the eyebrow: anything that sticks out will be removed.

Eyebrow hair removal: which method to use?

Tweezers

It is the most used method because it is simple and inexpensive. You can pluck your eyebrows at home, quietly. To avoid ingrown hairs, consider disinfecting the area to be tweezed and the tweezers before you begin. To avoid hurting yourself, stretch the skin well so as not to pinch it. A little trick to avoid plucking your eyebrows too short: position a pencil from the tip of your nose to the outside corner of your eye: this will give you the length to respect so as not to distort your gaze.

Eyebrow plucking

Threading is an ancient Indian method. This technique is gaining more and more followers because it is ecological, hygienic and economical: you will only need a sewing thread of about 50 cm. Unlike tweezers, thread hair removal pulls out multiple hairs at once, so the process is a bit faster. Finally, the positive point of this technique lies in the hair regrowth time: 4 to 6 weeks. Only downside: the technique of thread hair removal requires a little training before being well mastered, so do not hesitate to seek the advice of a specialist before you start.

Wax

You can do eyebrow waxing yourself, or you can turn to an institute. To properly pluck your eyebrows, do not use the same wax as for the legs or armpits: there are indeed kits dedicated to the face, with a finer wax, and a small applicator to clearly delimit the area. After one or two epilations, you will quickly get the hang of it and the pain quickly subsides, for a long-lasting result.

Pulsed light hair removal

Performed in an institute and only by qualified personnel, this technique requires several sessions. A device emits intense flashes of light, which will raise the temperature of the melanin and the pigment contained in the hair bulb, which will therefore come off on its own.
