Don’ts during pregnancy: creams, perfumes, cosmetics

Scientists from the University of Edinburgh have found that between 8 and 12 weeks of pregnancy, the formation of the reproductive functions of the unborn child takes place. Exposure during this period to chemical elements contained in cosmetics can disrupt the secretion of seminal fluid in boys.

An experiment was conducted on rats – with the help of chemicals, they blocked the action of androgens (male sex hormones), and in this case the animals had problems with reproduction. Some of the hormone blocking chemicals are widely used in cosmetics, textiles, and plastics.

And although there is not enough information for final conclusions, the researchers recommend that women use as little perfumed cosmetics as possible during pregnancy so as not to endanger the health of the unborn child.
