Diesel: Fuel for Life scandalous ad

A lot of fragrances were released in 2008 and to stand out from the rest, many launches were accompanied by some pretty explicit advertising campaigns. We have selected three videos that we remember the most, and present them to your attention. Enjoy!

1. Fuel For Life, Diesel

Company Diesel in 2008 broke all records in the field of scandalous advertising. In the spring, six 15-second ambiguous videos were released in support of the fragrance. Fuel For Life… In them, sexy men and women ask the viewer “is he alive” and show him that they are certainly alive.

And in the fall, a feminine fruity-floral fragrance was released Fuel for Life Unlimited for Women Only with notes of lemon, mandarin, licorice, anise and white flowers. An advertisement filmed in Prague by director Paul Gore lifts the curtain on the sensual world of women’s secretsfull of hints, touches and fleeting memories.

2. Secret Obsession, Calvin Klein

Fragrance advertising campaign Secret Obsession with naked Eva Mendes made a lot of noise. Secret Obsession continues the work of the cult predecessor Obsessioncreated over 20 years ago. The new fragrance is fruity-woody with a delicious vanilla accent, notes of cashmere wood and burnt amber.

The commercial was banned from broadcasting on English and American TV due to the “too pronounced sexuality of the plot.” Although, in fact, there is nothing shocking in the video. IN Calvin Klein believe that everything depends on the interpretation of the video, and that the representatives of the censorship have too much imagination. “The advertisement is filmed so that you see and hear everything, but in fact, you do not see or hear anything.” However, judge for yourself.

3. Shalimar, Guerlain

We see success CK haunted perfumers from Guerlainand they released an even more provocative ad for the new version of the fragrance Shalimar… In it, Natalia Vodianova, like Eva Mendes, appeared naked in bed surroundings, but from much more explicit angles. The famous Italian fashion photographer Paolo Roversi was invited to shoot.

A source of inspiration for an oriental scent with notes of bergamot, iris and vanilla Shalimar became an Indian legend, according to which in the wonderful garden Shalimar (translated from Sanskrit “Temple of Love”), the emperor of India Shah Jahan confessed his love to Mumtaz Mahal, in whose honor the legendary Taj Mahal palace was later built. What does this beautiful story have to do with the throwing of Natalia Vodianova in the commercial is anyone’s guess.
