A dishwasher diagram may be needed if a malfunction occurs. It is important to understand what components the machine consists of, what functions they perform. The electrical circuit of the control module will come in handy if you decide to repair the PMM yourself. Let’s consider in more detail all the details.
Our publication will be useful not only to those who want to repair appliances, but also to those who want to understand how a dishwasher works. It is important to know how the parts function in order to keep the PMM in order.
Device dishwasher
The location of the nodes may vary slightly, depending on the brand and model of the PMM (Bosch, Electrolux, Siemens, Hansa). But the basic device of the dishwasher is the same, regardless of the type of installation: built-in or freestanding.
Some users find that the compact machine is different from the standard size machines (45-60 cm). This is wrong. The difference is only in the dimensions of the case.
Scheme of the dishwasher
Let’s figure out which nodes are responsible for what:
- Bin. Designed to hold dishes. Baskets can be from two to three. There are also special compartments for knives and cutlery (depending on the configuration of the PMM “Ariston”, “Electrolux”, “Elenberg” and others).
- springs. Serve for gentle closing of the door. Thanks to closers, the door does not slam shut, but closes softly.
- impellers. Both built-in and freestanding appliances can include from one to three impellers. Water is supplied by a circulation pump to the sprayers and flies out of their nozzles. Jets under strong pressure wash away dirt from dishes.
- Thermal relay. Regulates water temperature during operation. Each program provides for a certain temperature: 50, 65, 70 degrees. When the heating element heats the water, the thermostat determines whether it has warmed up enough.
- Filter. It is located in the tray of any dishwasher (Kuppersberg, Whirlpool). Detains particles of food, garbage which get to the pallet together with water.
Experts recommend regularly cleaning the filter so that the equipment functions normally. It is advisable to do this after each wash.
- Drain hose connects to the pump and serves to drain waste water.
- Pressostat. Determines the water level in the chamber. Thanks to him, the car takes as much as it needs in the selected mode.
- Drain pump. Pumps water out of the chamber.
- Water intake serves as a reservoir of water for further washing.
- System “Aquastop”. There are electronic and mechanical. The first is located in the pan: as soon as water accumulates there, the float sensor is activated, and the control board receives a leak signal. Mechanical protection is located in the inlet hose: when triggered, a special sponge swells and blocks the flow into the system.
- The electronic unit. This is the main module that manages all the nodes in the dishwasher.
- Circulation pump. It supplies water to the sprayers, takes it back after being cleaned by the filter and reuses it for the next washing step.
- Network filter. Protects the electronic part of the machine from burning during power surges.
- Detergent dispenser. Contains compartments for powder, rinse aid, tablets.
- Filling valve. The board gives a signal to the valve, its membrane opens, and water is poured into the chamber. As soon as enough of it has been collected, the membrane closes.
- door seal. Serves for tight adhesion to the surface. Seals and protects against leakage.
- salt container lid. This is a special tank where salt is poured. It protects machine parts from scale, softening the water.
In many Indesit, Bosch, Ariston models, an ion exchanger is installed. It contains a resin that reduces water hardness, which has a positive effect on the operation of appliances and washing dishes.
- TEN. A heating element. How to replace the heating element in case of breakage, read in one of the previous articles.
- Inlet hose. It is he who is often equipped with the Aquastop system.
- Guide rail allows you to quickly and easily put the basket with dishes in place.

If the PMM is equipped with a dryer, then it can additionally be equipped with a fan that blows hot air into the chamber.
- MV is the fan motor.
- TY6 is the connector through which the electric motor operates.
- PU – switch contacts.
- IP – door switch.
In such machines, a heating element is additionally built in, which heats the air.
Electric circuit
After embedding and installation, the dishwasher is connected to a 220 volt network. The work is carried out according to the electrical circuit:
Where:
- X1-2 – lock blocks.
- SO 1-4 – switches.
- SL – relay RU-ZSM.
- EV – KEN-1 valve.
- EK – heater NSMA.
- H1-H3 — LED IMS-31.
- H2-H4 — LED IMS-34.
- MT – electric motor DSM 2-P.
- M – electric motor DAV 71-2.
- C 1-2 – capacitors;
- KL1 – clamp for grounding.
- FV – fuse connection point.
- SK – relay sensor.
A more complex device provides a control module with manual adjustment of programs. This is useful when you need to set the temperature.
If the control module malfunctions, you can check it yourself. When disassembling, pay attention to burnt parts: they may need to be replaced. The main board is hidden in the case:

Thanks to the device of the control module, the machine can perform self-diagnosis of breakdowns. When a problem occurs, the system immediately displays an error code on the display. Decoding depends on the PMM brand, you can find it in the instructions and our articles.
