Trade is an important area of the economy. It accounts for a significant percentage of tax revenues to the country’s budget, and a large number of people are involved in it. According to Rosstat, about half of small enterprises in Our Country are employed in this area. The goal of trade workers is to satisfy the needs of the population in goods and services.
When is Trade Workers Day celebrated in Our Country and the world
The date of the holiday is floating and it is celebrated on the fourth Saturday of July. In 2022, it will have to July 23.
Trade Workers Day is also celebrated in other CIS countries. So, in Belarus and Ukraine it falls on the last Sunday of July.

In the USSR, there was a Day of Trade, Consumer Services and Public Utilities Workers. Since 1966, it has been celebrated on the last Sunday of July. In 1988, it was moved to the third Sunday in March.
Since 2013, according to the Decree of the President, the Day of Trade Workers is celebrated again in July, and the Day of Housing and Public Utilities Workers has become an independent holiday, which falls on the third Sunday of March.

Until 2010, on this day in Our Country, distinguished representatives of the sphere of state, cooperative, private trade, as well as public catering were awarded the title of “Honored Worker of Trade of the Federation”.

On this day, exhibitions, seminars, conferences are held, in which manufacturing companies from around the world take part, promoting the principles of fair trade that meet international standards.
