Daily bread – check why it’s worth eating!

We eat it every day – light, dark, with grains. However, we do not know what it can guarantee us, how it can help and whether we really eat good bread. Here are 4 reasons why you should eat bread

  • Protects against cancer. Mainly sourdough bread. It contains lactic acid which facilitates digestion and prevents constipation. At the same time, it acidifies the body and inhibits the growth of pathogenic bacteria. It contributes to the development of good bacteria, thus increasing immunity and inhibiting the development of cancer cells.
  • It supports the maintenance of a slim figure thanks to the fiber content. There is the most of it in wholemeal bread – already 4 medium slices provide half of the daily fiber requirement. This bread takes longer to chew, so you eat less of it. If you eat 2-4 slices a day, you won’t gain weight.
  • It strengthens the body of future mothers. The bread contains a large amount of folic acid, which supports the development of the fetus, zinc that improves immunity and iron – which increases the body’s efficiency and protects against anemia.
  • It improves memory and concentration. Wheat and rye bread are a rich source of magnesium, which relieves the symptoms of stress and has antidepressant properties, as well as B vitamins necessary for the functioning of the nervous system.

We already know how bread can help. But what bread to choose when there is such a wide choice on the shelves? Among them, you can find three types of bread: rye, mixed (wheat-rye) and wheat. Each of them has its advantages, so it is worth reaching for different ones.Wholemeal rye bread – during the grinding of grain, the outer seed layer containing valuable nutrients is not removed. As a result, this bread contains a large amount of polyphenols, ligans and phytic acid. It is recommended for people with obesity, constipation, heart and circulatory system diseases. However, it is not recommended to eat only wholemeal bread, as it can hinder digestion. Therefore, it should be combined with other types of bread.Wheat bread – it is baked primarily from refined flour. It contains a small amount of fiber, so too much can be conducive to gaining weight. At the same time, it is easily digestible. It is recommended for convalescents and people with digestive problems, hyperacidity, ulcers and other diseases of the digestive system.Mixed bread – It is baked from wheat and rye flour. It contains more fibre, vitamins and minerals than wheat bread. It is recommended primarily to seniors and children.

Crisp bread – is it always dietary? When choosing this type of bread, it is worth considering whether it has a longer shelf life. If so, it’s full of chemicals. In addition, this type of bread can go moldy after a few days. Properly stored sourdough bread will never become moldy. It will dry out and become stale after about a week. Therefore, packaged bread is not the healthiest option. It’s best to reach for real bread.
